I cannot sift through anymore resorts!
We need a UK resort, with children's swimming facilities, ideally close to a beach, for 2 adults, kids 6 and 4 and a dog. Sounds simple right?!
4 nights midweek in the summer hols. Thought I'd found the best option with woolacombe but dh is concerned I won't be comfortable in a caravan (I have a chronic pain and fatigue condition).
So help me out:
Within 3 hours of Gloucestershire
Family swimming facilities
Near a beach
Kids play area
Comfortable seating inside the accommodation
Not to many country roads and dd gets car sick.
Allows dogs

So far thoughts are
Woolacombe bay
Par sands
Devon cliffs

Devon cliffs is very near me , so I know it well, lots of things nearby for the children, World of Country Life, Crealy etc there is a nice Sandy beach but the path between campsite and beach is steep , you can walk across the cliffs to Exmouth or you are a short drive from Exmouth which has a much larger beach

We stayed here a few years ago - seems to (mostly!) fit your requirements. They’re not super deluxe, but I would say a step up from a caravan and much closer to Woolacombe beach and town. We really enjoyed our stay - and so did the dog!

Ladeam bay holiday park in Devon would be great for you

WonderingWanda · 01/01/2025 12:47

Golden Coast / Verdant leisure is in Woolacombe but has some lodges with proper beds. It used to be part of the Woolacombe Bay parks but was sold. You do need to drive to the beach but it has pools and a bowling alley.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom cottage at Golden Coast in Woolacombe which was very comfortable. We really liked the resort, loads of things to do and great outdoor pool, but it gets busy and found it understaffed.

Woolacombe itself is lovely. I also liked Brixham in south Devon. We stayed at brixham holiday park in an apartment which was fine.

Hi @Eminybob would you recommend golden coast woolacombe for a lively 6 year old boy? Many thanks

Eminybob · 07/01/2025 19:15

Yes definitely. My boys were 10 and 5 when we went and there is loads to keep them occupied. They mostly loved the pool.
