Is this daisychaining?

  1. A charger plugged into a wall socket. A power bank attached to charger. Then a phone attached to the power bank. I.e. charging two things at once I guess.

  2. An extension plugged into a wall socket. Charger plugged into extension and charging a power bank. Then a phone charging off the power bank.

Just something I saw at a friend's house earlier made me wonder. I didn't want to create worry if I was wrong. I think adding the phone in both scenarios isn't great but the latter definitely seems like too many. Or am I way off?

the items charging off each other reduce the charge levels depending on how much juice is being split, dasiy chain is more extension pluged into extension, at least thats my understanding of the term (i could be wrong)

It's not great, but not something to get worked up over. Agree with PP the real issue is extension into extension.

No not really, minimal risk in the stated scenarios. Daisy chaining is mainly about overloading the connection so extensions off extensions powering 15 devices type thing.

Ah thank you. I wasn't sure about how much power they'd be trying to draw but the above example is helpful. Cheers all!

I don't see the point. Surely either the phone or battery pack (or both) are only getting a minimal charge like that.

i wouldn't do it myself, but not sure if it's dangerous or just pointless (or even if I'm wrong & both will get fully charged, I can't see how though?!?! It's one reason why I'm not an electrician !!)

Daisychaining means something completely different to me as on old person. But it's not related to threading flowers together!
