Inspired by recent threads. Are you an AI level of empathy PIP assessor? A misogynistic policeman? A somewhat silly spy? A socially awkward IT person?

I've been a "Too young" nanny/au pair, A tour guide who is "Just having a free holiday" a barmaid...etc...

All nurses are party animals though...(just to get you all going)

Stone hearted cynic who hates the vulnerable, despises anyone who won't use new technology and enjoys putting people down, whilst obtaining the best of everything for myself.

I'm allegedly a soduko expert who chose my speciality so that I didn’t have to talk to patients.

Much hated on MN, as we all have enormous and undeserved salaries. ( Nothing could be further from the truth)

Civil servant?

LaughingCat · 31/12/2024 21:02

I work in public sector media relations/pr and none of us are sweary, bullying spin doctors like Malcolm Tucker, nor smooth, emotionally-broken alcoholic ad-men like Don Draper. Everyone assumes we’re ‘controlling the narrative’ but honestly, we’re just fighting potential reputational fires, having a laugh with journos as we go and trying to get something a bit creative out there between the dreary ministerial visits and corporate press releases 😂. It’s ace!

I'm nosey, can't spell and think I'm more important than I am.

worstofbothworlds · 31/12/2024 21:19

University lecturer: we only work when the students are on campus, can tell parents what their adult child's marks are, and have to give trigger warnings if we say anyone dies (history), is ill (medicine) or neglects their child (social work).
We also get to dine at high table (TBF I did my PhD at an old fashioned Oxbridge college and did get to do this) and go to college balls (Ditto but I couldn't afford to pay so sang for my supper).
We spend our days in libraries (Humanities) or a lab with test tubes (science) and can't talk to real people unless it's on telly.
And we have secretaries who limit access to us by students.

Well just in the NHS, alas I'm not a matron in the origin of one of the many stereotypes.
