This year has been hell for me MH wise and I have finally got on top of it! So no major goals for 2025 other than to remain peaceful and prioritise my health.

Get off my phone. I’m on a constant loop of mumsnet, Facebook and instagram.. I hate it and need to put my phone down. Im not present at all.

So that, and get out more (without my phone)

Cornecopia · 01/01/2025 09:20

No goals for 2025 it would seem 🤣

Take an exam. I have a specific one in mind but I need to sort logistics. It is just for "fun" not for work.

Start a new sport/activity. I have two or three in mind, I want to go to taster sessions.

Finish my craft projects before starting any more.

Behindthethymes · 01/01/2025 09:37

I’m resisting setting big goals because I’ve made some small changes last year that have had a big impact, introducing them slowly and intuitively. Some have drifted a bit through the Christmas frenzy and the last week has been a lovely lazy one. I just want to ease back into my routines and good habits but some of that will be easier when the Christmas break ends, so I’m just enjoying another couple of slow, lazy days. Then around Feb or March I’ll see how I want to step it up.

Last year I started exercising regularly, eating better, intermittent fasting, drinking more water, cut back on alcohol, cut back on UPFs, improved my wardrobe a little, stepped outside first thing every morning and gave up coffee and sugar.

calmandcollected101 · 01/01/2025 09:38

Save more money again
Buy a Porsche at 29
Emotionally detach from dc dad (ex)
Put my 100% with new business deal coming up

Crunchymum · 01/01/2025 09:41

Lose 3st.

1lb a week for the whole year. Will stop all sugar after today, portion my carbs and up my daily steps. It's nothing faddy, nothing unsustainable, nothing that is going to feel like I'm depriving myself.

So I'll report back in December 😮

Whatsinstorenow · 01/01/2025 09:42

Retire

TheHistorian · 01/01/2025 09:42

Get rid of the half stone of belly pooch I've been complaining about for the last ten years! Also to master watercolour and take up diploma in hand embroidery.

This sounds so interesting! I didn’t know you could take exams for fun, may I ask what field the exam is in?

These posts are making me realise I have no hobbies except reading! Maybe I need to find my hobby this year

Finish my masters (half way through! Dissertation left to write)
Lose 3 stone
Move house
Be a more present parent
Travel to three new places (not countries)
I will likely achieve two of these lol

ThePoshUns · 01/01/2025 10:12

Reduce my alcohol intake.
Reduce my phone use.
Improve my crochet skills.

Itiswhatitis80 · 01/01/2025 10:12

Divorce.

SereneCapybara · 01/01/2025 10:14

I want to lose a stone, declutter and redecorate our house to put on the market, and move into a new house I love. And finish a big piece of artwork that I started last year.

Got other plans too and a busy year ahead - but those are the ones that will only happen if I put a lot of effort in.

TheCatCameBack112 · 01/01/2025 10:16

Rather than a single new year's resolution, I am aiming to do science on myself, with a subject of one. Every month I'm going to try something new that may or may not have beneficial effects on my health and/or life. My commitment to each will be for a max of 31 days. If I don't like it/feel a benefit there is no requirement to continue it.

I've matched each experiment to a month using a random number generator, and start today with intermittent fasting. Each experiment will have required resources and metrics to measure progress if any.

Experiments include digital detox, start a meditation practice, go outside every morning, 30 days of yoga etc.

Also, I'm trying Rock Choir after a thread I saw on here this week.

Ihateslugs · 01/01/2025 10:21

Lose weight! I am massively obese and struggling to cope now with arthritis in my knees. I need to lose weight in order to have knee replacement surgery but have struggle with lack of will power and inability to exercise!

But my son has just announced his engagement and I don’t want to be the fat Mum at the wedding! My ex will be there will his new wife, the OW he had an affair with for two years while we were married and also an ex friend of mine! So I want to be able to buy a nice dress in a smaller size, currently size 24 so likely to still be plus sized but even a size 20 would do!

We don’t have a date for the wedding yet but I think it will be this year as my son and his fiancé are both 40 years old and share a house so might not plan a long engagement.

ByQuaintAzureWasp · 01/01/2025 10:23

A lot of travelling and a few home improvements

CalicoPusscat · 01/01/2025 10:28

I honestly think my only achievement in 2024 was walking around with a contagious disease without knowing, but didn't infect anyone else. I mean I knew it didn't feel right but I didn't know it was something unusual and transmittable.

So I see that as a plus. But would like to achieve more this year.

Clearinguptheclutter · 01/01/2025 10:32
  1. yy to spending less time on my phone (although I’m currently doing Duolingo and that seems like less of a waste of time than doom scrolling on Twitter)
  2. get a better job
  3. run my first marathon - done a few halfs and my friend is doing her first marathon and I feel I can no longer put it off
Citygirlrurallife · 01/01/2025 10:39

Like a PP intuitive and step by step things. Building on things I already do or have dipped my toe into.

really get a handle on my comfort/boredom eating. Build on my weight training to increase how often I go and find a good local yoga teacher as I really miss yoga. Do more long (10miles+) with the dog. Once every week or so as there are some amazing local walks I really want to do with him and I’ve learnt the family just aren’t up for the long hikes. Pick up my paintbrushes again. Pick up my Spanish again. Spend less and do more.

the main thing this year is so stop the creative stagnation in my work. I’ve been coasting and getting jobs for money rather than enjoyment and as my work IS creative and also hard to come by I need to step up the efforts to make it fulfilling as well. Some of this means getting into and understanding AI so I don’t get left behind, and going back to doing some work for free, but I’ve lost my mojo as an artist and while I am sustainably earning money now I need to reincorporate the love for what I do again

caringcarer · 01/01/2025 10:40

To continue on weight loss journey and to declutter my home and redecorate most rooms.
