Now that it's so hard to get an NHS dentist I'm thinking about getting dental insurance and going private. Don't know anything about it so what are the best plans, how do they work and is it a good idea generally?

My private dentist offers a specific plan and that's the one I'm on. It's either that or pay out of pocket at my surgery.

I have supplemental insurance through work that reimburses some costs as well.

No experience of buying insurance than choosing a dentist.
