Does anyone know if you need a ticket for admission to Wetherspoons on NYE specifically Cardiff. No info on the internet and we don’t live nearby. No one answering phone

Which Wetherspoons? There are four that I can think of off the top of my head that are in central Caerdydd.

The one by the station. I thought it
was unlikely we’d need a ticketbut my son is looking for a pub to go to before
clubbing and just wanted
to check. He has club ticket already but unsure where to go first

There are two by the station - The Great Western and The Prince of Wales - but neither does ticketing on the doors to my knowledge, so he should be fine.

I am amazed at how invested you are in your son’s NYE. Where are his mates going?

Maybe he only started uni there in October and is still getting to grips with life in a capital city and feeling a bit overwhelmed?

We’re not in Cardiff. He’s organised a hotel with his girlfriend. They are meeting others there. No one from Cardiff. He asked me about it. I had no idea so thought I’d ask here. Wouldn’t say I’m invested! I’ll be home and probably asleep. Just thought mumsnet was a helpful site. Judging by your comment I was wrong! Happy new year to you

I thought that was a weird comment too @Okwotnext - it’s not overly invested, it’s about not being able to get through to the pub or find the information online, so you come to the forum hoping that some people know Cardiff and can help!

Hope he has a cracking time - it’s a fun place to spend the night and will be fairly lively tonight! If he needs a good brunch recommendation for tomorrow then The Cosy Club is fab, but probably good to book online in advance in case everyone else has the same idea! Blwyddyn Newydd Dda as we say around these parts!

I remember tickets for The Lynd Cross in Horsham many moons ago! I think it depends on the size of the pub.
