Has anyone ever received flowers (in a box) from Octopus on their birthday
with an accompanying card?

Nope!

VacuumPacked · 31/12/2024 11:53

just little me then ? singled out for special treatment?

no other Octopus customers wondering how and why this happens,
if its professional, wondering whether Octopus know your birthday?
consider this odd, unwelcome, creepy even?

I wouldn’t like this at all! I’m with Octopus and now wondering whether to contact them as for various reasons it would be wildly inconvenient if they did this.

foxyfoxedfox · 31/12/2024 11:55

Are you sure it’s from Octopus? Can you post a picture of the card?

Octopus do things like this for bereavements etc sometimes (send flowers). Have you had contact with them about anything lately? Their staff seem to have some latitude to send little gifts as a customer service type thing. We got a giant Octopus plush a few years ago that lives on DD1's bed!

I got one of these free in their Black Friday thing this year - it’s kind of freaky!

I have the giant octopus but never had a card (or even an email) for a birthday

VacuumPacked · 31/12/2024 15:10

I was perplexed, as even if someone thinks its a nice thing to do, its inappropriate, unprofessional, profligate, unwelcome.
They are in a jug on my bathroom window ledge - it isn’t the flowers fault after all.

Nope, not even a boutonnière from a jelly fish. 🫤
