Anyone else feel exhausted

Have had a couple of child free days over the weekend. I planned goals for 2025 and felt really motivated (whilst snacking on cheese and carbs)! Am back parenting today and woke up exhausted, had all the best intentions to go out to the park but have a sore throat and a like a zombie. Haven't been ill for ages, so assume it's a bug and should just rest! But feel guilty for not putting any of my wholesome new year plans into action yet. Anyone else feeling exhausted and not ready for a fresh new year start?

Sounds like you have the horrible lurgey that is going round. You're best resting if you can if it is that.

Well you've got another day to flake before feeling guilty! My diet was supposed to start on the 1st but now I'm going to visit family for a roast lunch....I do not feel guilty starting it a day later! And I'm sure your kids will survive and you have time to do stuff before school starts.

I am a great believer in the theory that when your life had been so busy that you can't afford to be ill, you aren't, but the minute you get a chance to relax, your body decides it can too - and so you get ill if you're brewing anything. Take it as your cue to just look after yourself for a few days OP.
I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for lovely replies. Really appreciate them. I shall indeed just rest and getting better. @vipersnest1 love this advice! I'm always on the go and feel guilty for doing nothing (if I sit relaxing I have to be sorting, planning or doing something). Wishing you all a wonderful New Year @mondaytosunday enjoy the roast! I always think 2nd is the start of New Year as 1st is always a family day! And thanks for reassurance it's ok to rest @DrCoconut xxx
