Help, are any mumsnetters passing the St Pancras premier inn next few days

got an inconsolable 11 year old DS. Left his (once) white jellycat bunny, given to him when he was born. It has been temporarily lost before and he has a (almost as old) replacement but obviously it’s not the same. Anyway we are 99% sure it was left in a certain room in the premier inn st Pancras yesterday

Now back at home in Manchester. I am calling the hotel and getting no answer (they are grossly understaffed), I have got a response from Twitter but only that they will pass it on to the hotel which I can’t be sure will get through.

I’m wondering if any very kind mumsnetter may be able to pop in and try and physically ask someone - and/or if we can confirm it is there, pick it up (as I gather that they might not agree to send or just be too busy). Obviously I would pay postage plus a generous tip!

in the meantime wondering if anyone has any happy stories from lost property at the premier inn. Honestly they are so critically understaffed (perhaps deliberately so?) that only turning up in person is likely to get any result.

oh no. It might be worth seeing if
someone on here works for LNER and can help.

I did get over it but aged 3 or so I left a doll on a plane on the way back from France. Never saw her again but I know what great lengths my parents went to to try and get her back.

I’ve just gone for it, inspired by your thread. Send good vibes! Am so thrilled for your little boy.

I'm not crying much!!

Same!
What a lovely thread and well done @GoldGoose ❤️

PleaseStopEatingMyStuff · 30/12/2024 14:34

Well done GoldGoose!
I met an older lady once who was still so sad at the loss of her special Panda as a child. I've always remembered her, she had tears in her eyes telling me his story.
Some toys are just special. This little chap is clearly one of the chosen ones. I hope he's safely back with his person soon.

WoolySnail · 30/12/2024 14:34

Faith in ( some of) humanity restored 😁❤️x

Yes it did, son has just confirmed “that’s definitely my bunny”

I'm incredibly old compared to your son, but please tell him how pleased I am..
when I was 7, I had a beloved little horse, White, with a flocked body and white mane and tail and red Circus harness and pretty glass eyes.

One day travelling across Europe, parents stopped at a roadside forest café Bar.
I had my little horse on the table.

Back in the car, I fell asleep, and woke up, searching for my little horse.

He was GONE.

I cried, Mum {stepmum} said ''You had him at the cafe, you must have left him there''

Dad said ''We aren't going back, it's too many kilometres, and another little girl will have him now''

The whole incident is etched still so painfully on my mind.

I have seen ''replacements'' on Ebay Germany {ironically he was a German made horse}but he was given to me by an uncle for Christmas.

Your son is very lucky to get his prized friend back.

I still wonder what happened to my little white horse!

♥️

I’d be really happy if we could celebrate the kindness of @GoldGoose rather than going down some rabbit hole about time machines and Hitler.

Have you never read any time-travel fiction?! Everyone knows it doesn't work like that. You'd go back and try and kill Hitler and end up shagging your own mother.

ShortyShorts · 30/12/2024 14:40

Can people please respect the OP's request to cut out the Hitler shit?

I'm not normally one for policing threads but honestly! 🤦‍♀️

Ebay has one like him.... but too expensive to import from America. Crazy postal price!

Let's maybe report the Hitler posts? Completely inappropriate.

The postal charges are what usually put me off bidding on anything in the US on Ebay.

DowntonNabby · 30/12/2024 14:49

What a lovely outcome! Well done @GoldGoose.

StMarie4me · 30/12/2024 14:50

Ohhh this is amazing!! Congratulations to all!

If you know someone in the US, maybe they could buy it and ship it over, or maybe another kind MNer could bring it over with them at some point?

GoldGoose · 30/12/2024 14:51

Thanks all for the messages, as someone who still has their lovey animal I feel very happy I could reunite a child with theirs.

🤣🤣 clearly I posted too soon. Made me laugh too when I went back to see what had been said.

So loved! That bunny is definitely real.

rebelrun · 30/12/2024 14:58

Lovely news!
After a few near misses, we stopped letting our DCs take favourite cuddly toys with them. They are so old (13 and 11) now and the toys are so so precious to them. They have understood for some years that leaving them at home is best.
