Help, are any mumsnetters passing the St Pancras premier inn next few days

got an inconsolable 11 year old DS. Left his (once) white jellycat bunny, given to him when he was born. It has been temporarily lost before and he has a (almost as old) replacement but obviously it’s not the same. Anyway we are 99% sure it was left in a certain room in the premier inn st Pancras yesterday

Now back at home in Manchester. I am calling the hotel and getting no answer (they are grossly understaffed), I have got a response from Twitter but only that they will pass it on to the hotel which I can’t be sure will get through.

I’m wondering if any very kind mumsnetter may be able to pop in and try and physically ask someone - and/or if we can confirm it is there, pick it up (as I gather that they might not agree to send or just be too busy). Obviously I would pay postage plus a generous tip!

in the meantime wondering if anyone has any happy stories from lost property at the premier inn. Honestly they are so critically understaffed (perhaps deliberately so?) that only turning up in person is likely to get any result.

Any updates, OP? I think you were expecting bunny's return today, I do hope he's back.

Unfortunately the tracker says he’s still in north London. Possibly the collection on Tuesday was earlier than usual so he didn’t make it. I am hoping he will be on his way later today.

No knock yet but I’m here waiting. Tracker seems confident it will be here by 1.

BUNNY IS BACK

not only that but with some Christmas chocolates and a lovely handwrittten note. Immensely grateful to @GoldGoose (as she knows) but also to the wider mumsnet community. If it wasn’t for this community DS’s chances of getting it back would have been so much smaller.

Aw so happy this is my favourite thread by far! @GoldGoose I've posted before but it's worth repeating, thank you for confirming that there are amazing people in this world when the news is inevitably full of the worst of humankind. Faith in humanity restored 🙏🏻

Elodie09 · 03/01/2025 11:35

Great to hear that Bunny is home, what a lovely person you are @GoldGoose .
@Clearinguptheclutter Happy day!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/01/2025 11:38

Ohhh this is heart warming Smile
I have only read the OPs posts and glad to see a happy outcome .

Is Bunny grounded from now on and told to sit on DS bed and think hard about his chintzy ways ?

My DD (she's 22 now) lost a pink teddy bear when she was little , it was given to her by my Mum&Dad when she was a baby . It isn't at my Parents house , we had to empty the house when they sold it .

We made up a story between us that Grandad found the teddybear years later at his house and DD said it was okay for him to give to a little girl at Church .
(Such terrible terrible lies but my DD was the sort of girl who wouldn't have minded if another little girl got her toy )

MirandaWest · 03/01/2025 11:39

So glad to hear Bunny is home 😊

Faith in humanity well and truly restored. Thank you @Clearinguptheclutter and @goldgoose 😘💕

Amazing! Thanks for making my day!

Thanks to this thread and to @WestrayWife I finally have closure on the Aberdeen Premier Inn and my lost Kindle saga!
Sadly it didn't end as happily as the bunny story did, as it turned out that when @WestrayWife went to the hotel for me, they didn't have it, but given the hotel's lack of response to multiple phone calls, emails and their own national customer services over a whole two months, I'm very glad to be able to put the whole thing to bed at last.
Thanks again @WestrayWife , and kudos to all the helpful Mumsnetters out there in real life!

YAAAAAAY! I've just missed a work deadline reading this thread as I needed to be sure he had arrived home 😂

Welcome Home Bunny - what an adventure he's been on!
