We had another Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. And I’m so glad because I was poorly and couldn’t eat my official one on Weds!

MyOtherCarisAVauxhallZafira · 29/12/2024 22:48

Lamb saag, had roast lamb yesterday with all the trimmings (felt like I didn't enjoy Christmas dinner as much after cooking for more than a dozen people) , a large leg of lamb for 2 adults and a 6 year old so there was loads left for a curry today

CalicoPusscat · 29/12/2024 22:48

Nothing exciting just macaroni cheese about to be followed up with fruit and ice cream

pandaskitchen · 29/12/2024 22:50

We are scraping the bottom of the left overs barrel.

A small buffet of....Mexican dips & doritos, sliced turkey & stuffing, re heated roast carrots & toast.
Followed by an apple.

Will need to get creative with loads of sprouts to use up & sausage meat. We can pick at the christmas cake.

Intheband · 29/12/2024 22:51

Stovies, they weren’t as good as my pops make but they were tasty filling and I just wanted plain scran after all the fancy stuff.

mondaytosunday · 29/12/2024 22:55

Cooked pork roast for lunch so had leftovers for dinner.

Printedword · 29/12/2024 22:55

Cod fillets with herbs, butter and panko breadcrumbs on top, cooked in the oven on a bed of onion slices with chips (homemade) cooked in the oven and asparagus and green beans

Ginkypig · 29/12/2024 23:00

lunch was left over mutar paneer and nann from dinner last night

main evening meal was ikea plant balls (meat balls for him) bought frozen from their food hall earlier in the year with kfc like gravy which is a great substitute (because we had run out of the ikea gravy packets) with skin on chips and peas.

then at about 9pm we had hickory smoked nuts and margaritas YUM!

tillyandmilly · 29/12/2024 23:02

Spinach and cheese Wellingtons with potatoes. I've had enough meat over Christmas so fancied something vegetarian.

Can you post a recipe please 🙏 sounds lovely!

MoonWoman69 · 29/12/2024 23:03

I had beef sandwiches in oven bottom breadcakes, with caramelised onion chutney and a pint mug of Heinz tomato cup a soup! And a packet of Walkers ready salted!
I have caught "the man flu" so that was ok for me!
Planning a roast gammon dinner for NYD. If I'm up to it!

ThatAgileGoldMoose · 29/12/2024 23:10

A very hearty turkey soup with the stock made properly from the carcass (stock and turkey scraps frozen until i could be bothered making the soup). And cheese on crumpets with it, divine!

Tisfortired · 29/12/2024 23:15

We just had a bog standard Spag Bol with garlic bread and salad. It was the first time we’ve s really sat at the table to eat a meal together since Christmas Day, we’ve all just been grazing to various degrees.

MouldyCandy · 29/12/2024 23:15

Scallop mornay, black pudding bon bons, chips and peas. It was Lush! Pudding was two Lindt chocolates.

Iwiicit · 29/12/2024 23:16

I made a valliant attempt to rid the fridge of all remaining leftovers, so I made a sausage and vegetable casserole using pigs in blankets, carrots, onions and parsnips, along with a random yellow pepper I found. We had that with mash and I bravely followed it up with my own body weight in Maltesers, a piece of shortbread and a triangle of the huge gold Toblerone. The dessert was a mistake and I now feel really sick.
I have failed to completely clear the fridge but only have a punnet of raspberries and about a litre of double cream left. So all told, pretty impressive.

dudsville · 29/12/2024 23:20

Cheese and biscuits with melon and mango. Yum!

Biscuitburglar · 29/12/2024 23:25

Homemade vegetarian chilli with lots of different veg and beans, served with rice, tortilla chips, salsa and guacamole with a large glass of red wine. Followed with some chocolate florentines, which are pretty addictive…

Rolypolyfishheads · 29/12/2024 23:34

Cheese Crispy Pancakes and Southern Fried Fries 🤤

JBJ · 29/12/2024 23:42

Gammon hock, mash, green veg, cheese sauce. All ready to cook type things from Asda and it was lovely!

JazzieC · 29/12/2024 23:49

Salad with hot smoked salmon and avocado followed by mountains of cheese and biscuits!

ClicketyClickPlusOne · 30/12/2024 00:01
