Sorry I wasn't sure where to post this, so it may not be in the right place.

Since I had my son I have awful cellulite on the back of my thighs. I'm to embarrassed to even wear pj shorts at home. I did gain quite a bit of weight in my pregnancy, and had a big baby. But have since lost most of the weight (haven't done any excersise to lose it, I'm lucky it just dropped off as I'm quite active chasing round my older son with SEN, Don't eat much, stress, etc)

How can I get rid of it? I don't really want to join the gym. Is there anything I can do at home to improve the appearance of it a little? Thank you

Mine went when I gave up alcohol, got towards the lower end of my bmi, started walking a lot and doing yoga.
I did see a programme where they gave some women products (different groups had different products) and one lot did dry brushing. After 6 weeks the daily dry brushing group had the best results. Maybe that would be worth a go?

@OhhYoureSpikey i don't drink at all but will try to get at the lower end. It seems to look worse though the more weight I lose, not sure if it's just in my head or if it becomes more visible.
I will give the dry brushing a go, thank you.

Did you see your GP about it? You may need some ointment to calm it down

I’ve got it all over my thighs and it’s awful. I’m ashamed to wear short shorts. I’ve dried dry brushing, firming cream, cellulite get and cellulite oil. I’m desperate! My husband can’t see the issue

Gggglinda · 30/12/2024 14:38

Sorry I meant at the lower end of my bmi in my last post.

@LeftWhisker no I haven't seen my gp about it. I didn't realise there was an ointment for it.

@teaandtoastwithmarmite ah I totally sympathise I'm the same. I have never thought twice about wearing shorts or a skirt until recently. I can't even wear pj bottom shorts around the house as I just feel awful. I'm also reluctant to try any of the creams for it. I use tretinoin on my face and have been putting some on my legs, but haven't seen a difference.

I do wear shorts but tend to be knee length. I’ve lost weight so my legs aren’t that big but i hate the way they look. I have noticed a bit of difference with the creams and some exercise. Maybe I just need to keep going with it.

I would consult your GP before doing dry brusing.

I think you're mixing up cellulite with something else. There is no 'ointment' and cellulite is not a GP concern!

Yes, you are right. Apologies for wrong assumptions.

Glad someone pointed that out before I called the gp asking for some cellulite ointment 😂
