Can you identify this bird?

It was so beautiful. The size of a pigeon, with a black and white eye mask and a black and white tail - tail had one big white spot with black surround from the side view. The body was a muted pigeon-y colour with a gentle rose effect to the upper back and back of neck. Google suggests it's a green woodpecker, but the tail isn't right.

I would have said Jay too as they aren't that common, doesn't sound like a green woodpecker to me

Can you take a photo and use an app to identify it

I was too slow to get a pic. We6re watching a film and my eye was drawn to it so I just got up to admire it. It was goe a moment later.
