People's manners gone ?!?

Ahhhh !!

Am I just imagining it but have people's manners gone straight out the window these days? Recently over the last few days anyway!! ... held a door open for someone one day last week (like helpful people do from time to time) - and the person literally swanned on through with their 2 kids, not one of them even acknowledged it.

This morning, after a gym class we were passing the spray and then blue roll around to wipe our bikes down, passed to 2 other people, not even a thanks or cheers when I told one of them that the spray nozzle wasn't working properly.

Then straight afterwards in the shop, someone bypassed the queue to the front, and then when someone said to them about it they didn't even apologise - they just went to the back.

Needed a rant because I'm pretty sure I wasn't raised to act that way, and I wouldn't raise my own kids that way.

i agree op

There was an evening event at my office last week. I was leaving as a group of about 12 people arrived. I held the door open, expecting one person, maybe two, to go through before they let me out. Nope. All 12 came through. How many thank yous do you think I got? Zero. None. Zilch. Most of them didn’t even look at me. And this was older Liberal Democrat’s people

I’m afraid I did say something, loudly, about their rudeness. They just looked sheepish. Nobody said anything. I stomped home fuming.

I call people out, every time, and make a HUGE point of saying thank you and being polite to model to my three year old and all the children I work with how we should behave. people just don’t seem to give a shit anymore, it was covid I noticed it had really started to decline, people took on a real ‘only out for themselves’ mentality.

I’ve noticed this all year and it’s mostly men.

Just yesterday I thought you rude bastard as one saw me waiting to be served and he barged in front of me.
