1000 albums in a year - I want your suggestions!

I'm challenging myself to listen to 1000 new-to-me albums in 2025. I will listen to anything, of any genre (if it's available on Spotify or Apple Music) with the exception of death metal or Bradley Walsh's latest Christmas album😆

I love music but have got stuck in a bit of a rut over the last few years so would like to expand my horizons. What album would you like to recommend to a total stranger?

This is the Kit - Vitamins
Del Amitri - Twisted
The Streets - A Grand Don't Come For Free
Plan B - The Defamation of Strickland Banks
Portishead - Dummy
Left field- Leftism
Massive Attack - Protection

Dummy was the soundtrack to my revision for my finals! I went through a BIG trip-hop phase in the 90s... I'll give the Plan B a go, thanks.

That’s nearly 3 albums A DAY! 19/20 a week. Where will you find the time and will you listen to all of them if you don’t like them?

I could easily do this, I listen to hours of music weekly. In fact, I may copy OP idea, I'm also a bit familiar when it comes to choosing music.

Hanson- This Time Around (this is one of their first adult albums, there’s so much more to them than Mmmbop!)

Blink 182- Blink 182

Jesse McCartney- Departure

1000Albums · 28/12/2024 21:46

That's the thjng @lleeggoo - I listen to music a lot, so I'm not too worried about finding the time, but I tend to go for the same stuff over and over again!

As someone who spends a lot of time telling people 'there's so much more to Taylor Swift than Shake It Off!' I will honour your taste by adding Hanson to my list 😆

A Seat at the Table - Solange Knowles. Such a beautiful, thoughtful album

Channel Orange - Frank Ocean. Modern classic.

The Car - Arctic Monkeys. Totally different from their popular stuff, but there's a few tracks on there that are stunning.

Lemonade - Beyoncé. Just brilliant.

Prioritise Pleasure - Self Esteem. Will make you laugh and cry and want to fuck shit up in some way.

Purple Rain - Prince. Need I say any more?!

The Miseducation of Lauren Hill. Another classic which never dates.
