I know, I know. It's totally the most riveting question on chat currently but...

What would you eat with a vegetable tart?

I make a delicious french vegetable tart - pastry case, similar to a quiche, with diced green beans, potatoes, carrots and peas in a bechamel sauce and topped with gruyere. It's delicious. But struggle to see what to have with it. In summer it's obviously a fresh salad, but for colder months? Any suggestions?

Cauliflower cheese
But there's nothing wrong with a salad in the winter
Or as suggested cheese, pickles, cold meat.

I'd do a quinoa salad with lots of fresh veg and perhaps some pickles.

I’d have roasted fennel on the side. (I’m a bit obsessed with fennel though!)

Kale, roasted with olive oil, lemon juice and garlic until it turns crispy then sprinkled with a little salt

If not veggie/vegan then thin slices of salami or pastrami

Layered salad of sliced tomatoes and red onion drizzled with balsamic and scattered with basil leaves (also gorgeous with mozzarella added)

Beetroot and orange salad
