How do you do toy rotation?

I used to be good at this but everything is just out now.

How do you rotate toys?

How often do you change things up?

How much do you leave out at a time?

Is there anything you leave out all the time?

Do you do books too?

DC are 5, 5 and 2 if helpful.

Following with interest as I want to do this too

Oh and also how do you choose what you're rotating, eg do you keep categories of things together, so one time you'd have all the puzzles/jigsaws, or would you have a different puzzle in each rotation?

I know there's not necessarily a right way, just interested in what works for others.

Also following as I'm going to do it!

Previously I have done things like a game some vehicles some drawing or sticker and some role play but open to other suggestions

Hah seems like some of us are keen to do it but no one around to share the secrets!

That makes sense to have a variety of different things. I think the craft stuff is just going to stay out as that does get used quite often.

I bet I do this enthusiastically for about three weeks and then will forget about it!

What kind of storage you using?

I have the ikea trofast unit - I got a few extra boxes and basically just swap the boxes out every now and then

daughter is only 3.5

they are sort of organised but I’m not super strict on it

so for example the magic tiles, toy garage, cars etc would be swapped out with the box that has the Lego, toy house and the people and the toy airplane

i have 2 jigsaw puzzles out at a time and swap them when she’s fed up of them

There’s a box with puppet’s and dress up stuff and I swap it out sometimes for
A box that has say Barbie’s and other dolls and some different dress up stuff baby buggy etc

the brio train set comes and goes it’s all in a box and I sometimes shove it under my bed for a while

it works well but sometimes she’ll just come and say she wants the garage or the house or whatever so il say let’s swap another item for that one

the teddies as well I try just have 50% of them away in a box in the cupboard at a time as otherwise she takes them ALL out at the same time 😝
