Do you let DC eat in the living room (carpet).

Dc are 7 and 9. They love a "floor picnic" , I put out a mat/rug for them to sit on and eat if it's a "party tea". We also have film night treats. One dc, the oldest, is so unbelievably messy. I feel like I need to stop them both eating anthing at all in there

I've just found a melted after eight down the side of the sofa ffs. The floor gets covered in crumbs, crisps etc despite asking them to sit and eat on the rug. We normally eat at tge table in the dining room, so it's only maybe Friday night/Sat lunch it happens but more so over the hols

If they can't eat tidily on the rug then they eat at the table.
Do they clean up their mess?
