We're currently on our 4th day of thick fog and I'm wondering how widespread around the country it is....
I live near Worcester.

I’m in Manchester and it started on Christmas night, driving home from my brothers at 10pm I was driving in and out of patches of it. It’s been thick ever since. I live in a flat on the 9th floor and all I can see out of my window is a wall of white.

Anyone else google the difference between fog and mist today? I am sure we have fog but Met Office, thinks mist!

For some industries pretty much internationally fog is defined as visibility less than 1000 metres,

That said I see for some reason the UK Met office have a caveat that they might use a cutoff of 180 metres (?200 yards) in some forecasts that are aimed at the general public.

What is the difference between mist, fog and haze?

Fog, mist, and haze affect visibility, impacting driving, shipping, and aviation. Accurate forecasts are essential for safety and efficient transportation.
