Why are you awake

LisaJohnsonsFacebookMole · 27/12/2024 04:39

I had a nightmare that felt incredibly and was so believable I didn't realise I was having a nightmare. Usually I do! And when I woke up I remembered a bad dream before the nightmare. Perhaps I need some changes in life.

Sorry you had a nightmare! I'm awake I guess because I've slept enough, even though I only went to bed at midnight. I don't really sleep in long stretches most of the time now.

Want to talk about your dream?

DigbysMum23 · 27/12/2024 04:47

I have 14 week old twins with a cold. Have finally managed to get them back down. So gong to try for some sleep myself now!

MessyNeate · 27/12/2024 04:50

I'm staying in a travelodge in Warrington to break up my drive from south wales to Edinburgh. Some kid was running up and down the corridor at 4am Confused

Now I'm too excited to sleep because my next drive means I get to see my husband after 10 weeks apart Grin

AllHisCaterpillarFriends · 27/12/2024 04:53

Because I can't drink alcohol anymore.
Really need to stop as it causes the most dreadful insomnia now, can't even have a glass without it affecting my sleep.

I miss the baby days, although I know that no-one up now with babies will believe that lol.

Op you should tell someone about the dream/nightmare, it is the best way to stop them ime.

XmasTimeNoSnow · 27/12/2024 04:56

I need to get up for work 🥱

EveryOtherNameTaken · 27/12/2024 04:57

Just the usual pointless menopausal waking up for no reason. Going to put on Audible which should lull me back to sleep 🙏

Huffleruff · 27/12/2024 04:58

I have insomnia. And a particularly grotty cold on top of that. So that's nice.

What is audible? I definitely need help getting back to sleep these days!

Keepingittogetherstepbystep · 27/12/2024 05:01

I'm buzzing as I've solved a problem with miniscule information and also managed to confirm that it's correct.

PepperoniPizzas · 27/12/2024 05:02

Work. 🥱 early start, early finish tho!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 27/12/2024 05:03

My dogs yapped me awake at 3:30 and I can’t get back to sleep.

Nettleteaser101 · 27/12/2024 05:04

I always get up at 4 since for years for work. now I'm retired I still get up for DH as he leaves early for work.
Today I have a pain in my lower tummy that's been playing up for months. I've had a pelvic scan and an internal probe and all normal but I think the scans were too low and it was my tummy that needs scanning. So I will phone the docs this morning to see if I can get an emergency appointment, other wise it's weeks before I can see a doctor. I'm a bit worried as my brother died from bowel cancer about 2 years ago. Hopefully it's not anything like that but you can't help thinking things especially early in the morning when no one else is about.

AliciaW · 27/12/2024 05:07

I have to work. I’m a GP and the “on call” doctor for today. I’m burnt out and stressed all the time which means I have insomnia.

Same. sleeping in spare room as dh has flu but I can still hear the snoring and coughing and the dog came in to wake me for some fresh water in her bowl...princess.

Been downstairs for tea, emptied dishwasher, fake fed cat and brushed him on a damp bench in the garden while listening to the dawn chorus.

If I'm up I might as well do stuff!

Me too re alcohol.

I've simply given it up altogether (some time ago) because even one small glass affects me detrimentally

I miss the baby days too

LisaJohnsonsFacebookMole · 27/12/2024 05:13

Audible is great for falling asleep to. Sadly, once I'm awake Audible doesn't work any more. Having a snack and drink. Then will read til I feel sleepy again. No plans for today that can't be changed (only affects me) so hopefully can get another couple of hours. I only dropped off at 2 or so.

I had an allergic reaction to an antibiotic I was given after dental surgery. So I have swollen gums, my top lip is triple its size and I'm propped up by three pillows. Its very hard to sleep between the pain and unnatural sleep position.

PeggyMitchellsCameo · 27/12/2024 05:27

I wake up at 4.15 every morning.
Had a dream my ex married Pamela Anderson in Portugal. I was invited. Just as the ceremony started I bloody woke up! I love Pammy as well, I thought we would be friends.
I am in the spare room with a cuppa watching Brief Encounter. Happy days.

vodkaredbullgirl · 27/12/2024 05:29

Night shift and I've a banging headache on top of it all.

That’s awful. I had to have metronidazole for a facial abscess a few weeks it was grim. Not allergic but they made me feel so awful. Got told to sleep sitting up.
There is nothing worse than a dental issue over Christmas.
Hope you get sorted soon.

Chariots77 · 27/12/2024 05:32

Starting with a horrendous cold or flu. Hurts to breathe atm 😫so gutted. I'm a single parent who works full time, not had time off work in months. Now I'm spending it ill 😫😂

DarkForces · 27/12/2024 05:33
