What is wrong with my labia

Please just looking for advice!

I noticed a pea sized lump yesterday when in the bath situated at the top of my right outer labia. Felt like a cyst or gland so thought would keep an eye on it. Fast forward to today and it’s now swollen to the size of maybe a small grape and painful.
I had a Bartholin cyst a few years ago and feels similar but they are situated at the bottom near the vaginal opening aren’t they? This is right at the top near my urethra. Also it seems to have a red head to it like a spot whereas I don’t think my Bartholin cyst did I think it was smooth although I couldn’t get a great look at it at the time.
I did recently have sex with a new parter, could it also be an sti? Will be calling gp tomorrow but minds just racing now.

Could be an STI, could be an ingrown hair maybe? Have you shaved recently?

Really praying it’s not an sti! I shave and always have done, never had something like this happen as a result but I do have coarse hair so couldn’t rule it out. It must be infected if growing at this rate?

It’s almost certainly an infected cyst - the advice is always to sit in a hot bath or put a hot flannel on it, to draw up the infection so it’ll burst. And if you have any I think put mag sulfate on it overnight with some kind of dressing on.

If it gets bigger or doesn’t shift you will need antibiotics

Even if you always shave you could still end up with a random ingrown hair. Book in to an sexual health clinic and they can check for you x

I think it could still be the cyst. Hold warm salt water on the area and it should disperse in a few days if only a cyst
