When did you Christmas tree go up? When will it come down?

Inspired by the many 'My tree is down' threads I've seen already.

Mine goes up on first Sunday in Dec, which made it the 1st Dec this year.

And it comes down on 1st Jan. We go back to work on 2nd Jan and I like it packed away and cleaned through the day before.

My Mum is a bit more traditional and leaves it up for the full 12 days of Christmas starting Christmas day.

Went up 19th Nov and will come down 2nd Jan. I love them!

Up on 15th, but not totally decorated until around 19th. Will stay up until 6th January.

Went up on the 1st and will come down on the 31st.

Up 24 December, down 6 January. That's the full-blown tree; other decorations and festive touches creep in and out from Late Nov on and possibly hang around into spring.

Our tree is a live potted one, and it is thriving - in its fifth year, and looking very healthy. It comes in on Christmas Eve, gets decorated, and then goes back out on Boxing Day. The cards and decorations will also soon be coming down: our children are grown up and we get fed up with the clutter, especially after New Year.

Ours went up on the 14th Dec - I wanted to wait until dc broke up from school but was overruled.
We’ll take it down on 6th Jan, as we always do. We keep back one small gift under the tree and open it on epiphany, in honour of the 3 wise men, so the tree stays until then.

@stargirl1701 my DH’s cousin never takes her’s down until Candlemass.
It would drive me mad still having it up in February!

Tree went up 25th November and is going down New Year’s Day, used to keep it up till the 6th as DS birthday is the 5th and he loved keeping it up. Now he’s older he couldn’t give one so the last few years it’s been New Year’s Day as I’m off soo it’s easier.

Went up first weekend in December and will come down Jan 2nd probably.

Mine goes up first weekend in December, but as the first was Sunday and my son couldn't get time off work till Tuesday we went then (we get it fresh) and it took me a couple days to decorate.
By New Years I'm feeling Christmas is over, but the effort of putting it all away means it stays up a couple days longer and slowly things get put right.

CrushingOnRubies · 27/12/2024 10:24

Went up 30th November decorated by the 7th. Only went up that early because dp was around to help put it up and we weren't sure when he would be back before Christmas.

Down around 12th night.

Norugratsatall · 27/12/2024 22:25

Went up 7 Dec. Depends how much it's dropping needles, it might stay up until the 6th Jan as I love its twinkle in the gloom of early Jan.
