Who can recommend some decent kitchen scissors please?

Mine are RUBBISH. Don't stay sharp, keep coming loose... Every time I use them I think "right that's it! A new pair!"

But what would you lovely MNers recommended please?

Waitrose for a fiver are cheap and cheerful
Sainsburys are crap as are Morrisons

SeaToSki · 26/12/2024 13:20

I like the ones that come apart as I can put them in the dishwasher

PineappleCoconut · 26/12/2024 13:25

The ikea ones. That coke in a pack of 2 or 3 that need a pair to open, so don't throw yours out just yet Grin

Sgtmajormummy · 26/12/2024 13:25

I have two pairs of blue IKEA kitchen scissors, one is 6yo the other 3. They’re both still razor sharp and I can’t tell the difference.

Geneticsbunny · 26/12/2024 13:27

Oxo good grips. They come apart for dishwashing and stay sharp for ages.

CharlotteCChapel · 26/12/2024 13:29

These, my dad still owns and uses the pair we had when I was young and they've not been sharpened

I grabbed a pair from Asda in a hurry about a year ago and they have been great! Still sharp and were only a few quid

boatyardblues · 26/12/2024 13:44

We have these. The blades separate for washing. They’re excellent.

@CharlotteCChapel I had completely forgotten about those scissors my mum had those when I was little, probably still does

pamshortsbrokenbothherlegs · 26/12/2024 13:49

William Whiteley and never buy another pair! They are pricey though (got mine as a Christmas gift a few years ago).

I don't think I have ever seen a cheerful pair of scissors. Do they smile all the time, or only when you take them out of a drawer?

Hskatkat · 26/12/2024 14:05

@TwoLeftSocksWithHoles it's a pretty standard phrase.....
