to fill 16 year old DD's stocking.

Anyone else foolish enough to do this, despite the child not having believed in Santa for approximately half of their lifetime?! 😁💤

Mines set for 5am and I thought that was bad 😂

catphone · 25/12/2024 00:06

Why would you do that? Just do it now

HedgehogB · 25/12/2024 00:07

Why arent you doing it now so you can sleep. I’ve already taken DS’ stocking into his room sniggering and muttering ho ho ho. He is wide awake (three beers in) and sniggering too.

Why can't you fill it before they go to bed? I wouldn't be getting up to do it

Normandy144 · 25/12/2024 00:07

Eh? Just do it now and go to bed! Why are you getting up at 3am. This makes no sense. She's 16.

TwilightCat · 25/12/2024 00:08

My mum always did them the night before and then ‘hid’ them (although we always knew where they were as she wasn’t good at hiding them 😄) and then put them out before we got up. Why do you need to get up at 3am?!

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 25/12/2024 00:08

That's.... insane! Either do it now or in the morning! By age 16 my Mum could just about get me and my sibling up in time to eat Christmas dinner 😂

HeddaGarbled · 25/12/2024 00:08

Ridiculous. You’ll be wrecked for what should be a lovely day. Don’t be a martyr.

BaubleMania · 25/12/2024 00:10

Don't be ridiculous @Sickofitalltonight.

Put it out now and enjoy tomorrow by not being knackered.

She's a teenager.

As are mine.

Topseyt123 · 25/12/2024 00:11

That's mad. Just put them out now.

Zonder · 25/12/2024 00:12

Hang it on the outside of her bedroom door. On the handle. Job done.

Thatcastlethere · 25/12/2024 00:12

Teenagers don't get up early in the morning.. so don't set any alarms at all. Just stay up till 1am watching a film with a drink or whatever.. then fill her stocking on your way to bed. Then get up whenever she wakes up naturally...

Trimbleton · 25/12/2024 00:12

Just posted a thread on this. It’s all such bloody nonsense at this stage

piscofrisco · 25/12/2024 00:13

For the first year I've put DD1's out before she is asleep. She is out with her pals and I need some sleep. She is 19 and I know it won't go down well but I'm knackered!

Edingril · 25/12/2024 00:16

I had an empty one out and a full one and swapped before I went to bed

Even when little no chance we were getting up early was happening

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 25/12/2024 00:19

I don't know why everyone just doesn't put the stockings in the living room to save all this palaver, that's what we did growing up and what were doing now

MerrilyOnhigh · 25/12/2024 00:19

What on earth are you doing that for? She isn't even going to notice when you do it, so you may as well do it at a sensible time.

CherryBlossom321 · 25/12/2024 00:39

My 16 year old just wandered through the lounge to get to the kitchen for a glass of water, and saw her present pile AND her filled stocking…no upset, no ruined surprises, no issue 🤷‍♀️ She’s now gone to bed to sleep.
