For me it’s how disgusting it is to wash dishes in a sink or basin full of water. It turns my stomach a bit. The dishes have to be washed in fresh, running water.

Being a SAHM is the ideal way, and should be more supported in society.

Gentle parenting raises brats.

100% agree

Good manners ARE important. And yes, that does include table manners.

Ya!

Sure girly pops.

How tall are you?

You nearly were a size 12 & felt lumpy & gross.

You 5 feet?

No insecurities? Your little diatribe sounds completely secure.

Never have?? Almost size 12? Lumpy & gross?

That's a coherent chat.

Cool.

Why are you so invested?!

It’s their opinion so get over it 🤣😂

People who don't vaccinate their kids are borderline neglectful

Vegans should be banned from being dieticians or nutritionists.

Gentle parenting raises badly behaved children.

Pro lifers aren't actually pro lifers as most of them (in America) are pro guns.

Rarely something good comes from religion.

Money does make you happy and life easier.

Nothing will ever beat a petrol car with a big engine.

Surrogacy is inhumane and barbaric.

Cornwall is incredible in the summer but so boring in the winter.

Raising children vegan is wrong.

There needs to be more rules and checks on home educating. Home education should only be taught when the parents have or had teaching qualifications.

;)

Agree with all of these.

People cannot change sex. The term 'maiden name' has no meaning any more and should be abolished.

40andlovelife · 25/12/2024 19:49

You can't change your sex. Ever.

All religions are man made, and they have caused a lot of suffering and division, and they are bad for women. Being told that a woman and man are seen as equal, in the eyes of god, but a woman’s role is seen as being a baby making machine, and having to bow down to her husband and being subservient to him, is not equality. It never will be, no matter how much the men running this planet try and convince women that it is equality and „”what god wants”. Its not, It’s dangerous nonsense.

Ha, ha - I do wish you could have met our friend, the local archdeacon's wife Grin

Honestly, this is a load of rubbish. I know a lot of religious people, none of whom believe a woman has to bow down to her huband and be subservient to him, nor that women are baby making machines. I also suspect that the majority of prick husbands/partners we read about on MN don't have a religious bone in their bodies.

Manypaws · 25/12/2024 20:51

The Malteser ones in Revels don't actually taste like maltesers

Nah, not a Christmas song unless it actually references Christmas.

Oh give over. Of course many religious people don’t think or believe these things, who don’t take the bible as the literal truth etc. But I wasn’t talking about that. I am specifically talking about what organised religions fundamentally ask of women in terms of role in society and in marriage. Religions are patriarchal in their nature, organised and run by men, where traditionally women are seen in a supporting and submissive role. And honestly, to believe otherwise is load of rubbish in its self.

You are talking utter nonsense. I can only assume that you have had little exposure to religion. What about women ministers - are they not part of organised religion? Do they bow down to their husbands? Are they in submissive roles in the church? You really need to get out more.

You needn't bother replying, I can't be bothered with this thread any more. Too many judgemental people with rigid (and ridiculous) views. Hmm

To reiterate, I am not commenting on individual religious people, but rather on what traditionally organised religion has, and still in many parts of the world, expects of women in society and in relation to men I.e their husbands. Wonderful that we have women ministers, but they are still very much in the minority. Coming from an immigrant, highly religious background, I can tell you that a lot of women that I knew/know were definitely socialised to believe the man was in charge, and wouldn’t question it otherwise. You say „”Too many judgemental people with rigid (and ridiculous) views”, And yet here you are judging me. I suggest you open your eyes and look beyond on your own parish, and see how still, throughout the world, organised religion still dominates many women’s lives, adversely.

TempestStormAndWine · 26/12/2024 04:24

More accurate to say that a few breeds are inherently dangerous and should be banned, and that dogs and small children don't mix. if you look at the fatalities they're almost always: american bully / pitbull / bulldog / cane corso / rottweiler / staffordshire bull terrier OR the fatality was of a young child under 4 yrs old attacked in their family home by the family dog. If we banned those half-dozen breeds and enforced a law that you can't have dogs in a house with pre-school children, then fatalities would be cut by more than 90% to the occasional freak accident.
It also depends what you mean by "in public". I think muzzled while in a public building or on public transport, and on a lead while on public footpaths is possibly reasonable.
Some dog owners are morons and give the rest a bad name. People shouldn't have more dogs than they can control, or dogs that are too strong for them to control.

Personally I'd sooner ban cats - they're catastrophic for wildlife and biodiversity and they carry toxoplasmosis which causes a large chunk of mental illness / schizophrenia in humans.

Dogs also kill wildlife and are a danger to biodiversity, and also carry rabies.
And, they are unclean animals. They don't wash themselves and don't bury their droppings and will stop and literally shit smack bang in the middle of a footpath. Dogs have no sense of propriety.

Cats have a purpose - they keep the mice population under control. Without them, we'd be back to the Bubonic Plague days. Dogs really have no purpose at all.

FelixtheAardvark · 25/12/2024 10:50

Statistically the evidence is on the poster's side.

The men who kill are a minute percentage of the male population of the world.

Nope, statistically - if we are talking men vs women, men are responsible for 98% of all violent assaults.

IdylicDay · 26/12/2024 05:03

SantaBakula · 25/12/2024 10:37

Er what ?
Every single women is mentally physically and emotionally superior to what ?
Every other woman ? Nope that's illogical
Every other man? That's impossible males in general in any species are physically stronger than females.
I think men ( not all of course) tend to be most emotionally stable .

98% of all serious violent assaults are by men, @SantaBakula . I can give you the source for this if you want. Add in road rage by men, Domestic Violence, etc. To say men are "most emotionally stable" is a sick joke. In fact, men are the most emotionally unstable out of men vs women. Women are the most emotionally stable sex. And most level headed/even tempered.

That comments about whether Die Hard is a christmas film or not are mind numbingly dull and made by people who have no actual imagination or original thoughts of their own. Who fucking cares? Either watch it or don't, it just doesn't matter.

To be fair, most of them don't matter, it's just an opinion. It's not that deep. 🤣

Dogs have no purpose? I'll make sure to let my daughter know that her diabetic alert dog has no purpose. Or my neighbour with the guide dog across the road. What nonsense. 🤣

My own lazy arse Labrador has a purpose too - he just makes us all very happy and often gives me a purpose, even on my darkest days. My two cats are also wonderful, very loved members of the family, although one of them tries to kill me on a daily basis. Maybe that's his purpose. 😊

Dogs also kill wildlife and are a danger to biodiversity

but

Cats have a purpose - they keep the mice population under control.

I love cats and dogs, and have both. But this is contradictory.
.
Also, my dog has never killed anything, will only shit in the grass and has a human who picks it up for her, her human also baths her. Her ‘purpose’ is that she gives me unconditional love, structure to my day and a reason to get out of the house if that is difficult for any reason. Because of her I talk to other people more and exercise more than I would without her, she snuggles up to me whenever I’m at home and keeps me warm, I love her. She’s my companion and my mood lifts when she looks at me.

The cats are cute, they come for a cuddle but are ultimately disinterested a lot of the time.
