For me it’s how disgusting it is to wash dishes in a sink or basin full of water. It turns my stomach a bit. The dishes have to be washed in fresh, running water.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Live and let live. The world would be a boring place if we were all the same.

Purplecatshopaholic · 25/12/2024 13:03

Ooh, loving most of these. But sorry, border collies are not the best dogs, lol

As a happy omnivore, I will never understand preachy pescatarians who are horrified at the idea of eating most meat, but weirdly don't include fish meat in that.

On the other hand, if you're a pescatarian simply because fish meat is the only meat that you like/choose to eat for health reasons, and you don't lecture people who choose to eat other meats... crack on.

Hmm, butter dish in a cool room good.

Rancid butter. Not good.

Yeah @Enko too many variables here. If we keep the butter in the fridge we can't spread it for half an hour, (or we have to stick in it the microwave for 10 seconds.) We always leave it out (in the butter dish.) When summer temperatures are above say 27C, we do pop it in the fridge though, otherwise it turns to liquid and it's minging! Once we get it out of the fridge (in hot weather,) it only takes a couple of minutes to be able to spread it, as it softens quickly.

Divorcing when you have young children, just because you've cooled or fallen out of love with each other (no abuse, no violence, no toxicity, no other damaging circumstances) is extremely selfish, and absolutely not putting your children first.

Why should your children be forced to suffer, when they had no say in it - just because you later regret your choice of spouse and want to 'find love' again before the children have grown up?

Your knife should be in your right hand and your fork in your left when you are eating at the table.

Left handed gadgets (with the exception of scissors) are a con.

@sashh

Your knife should be in your right hand and your fork in your left when you are eating at the table.

Not if you're left handed. Smile My left handed SIL would find it hard to eat with her fork in her left hand and the knife in the right.

Fat people are unattractive

Although I did say earlier that (IMO) people are not truly happy fat, and most people look better slimmer, I do disagree with this. I have seen a number of people who are still attractive overweight/fat, (though I think they'd look better slimmer!) If a overweight person wear the right clothes - not too tight - they can still look good. And attractiveness is not always about looks. Smile

The existence of private schools is an ethical disgrace.

But spending an equivalent amount of money on a luxury item such as an expensive car, a boat, a holiday home etc. is fine?
How about spending an equivalent amount of money moving into the leafy catchment area of a grammar or high-performing comprehensive with a largely middle-class catchment population and spending a large amount on private tutoring for the 11+ and GCSE / A levels.
Ethically, parents need to pay their taxes - a share of which goes to educating other people's children. After that, what they do with their net income is their business and any money spent on education is considerably better spent than money spent on vehicles with high CO2 emissions or second homes which price locals out of the market.

I'm strong agree, I don't like drinking cup of tea at people houses because of this bad habits.

People have been washing dishes in sinks of water for years and no one's died of it

Ever heard of trying to save water

Dishwashers use less water than washing by hand. But I don't care about washing in sinks full of water.

Racists trying to validate their poisonous views to appear reasonable when at the heart of it they're hateful fuckers.

Fimofriend · 25/12/2024 14:06

A lot of vegetarians and vegans have simply masked their eating disorders with those titles.
Real vegetarians and vegans eat a large variety of fruits and vegetables to ensure that they still get all the necessary nutrients.

He absolutely was a filthy, groooming, weird nonce!

Havalona · 25/12/2024 14:56

Christmas is arch manipulation of the needy and guilty. Show love and visit during the year. Kids dont need presents to be loved. Comparison is the thief of joy especially at Christmas.

PermanentTemporary · 25/12/2024 15:12

Importing a step parent into the house with your child(ren) under the age of 18 is such a stratospheric risk to the children and your future relationship with them that it should come with a klaxon and a red cross on the door.

Gentle parenting is fine if you're really good at parenting. Like most forms of parenting.

I think men ( not all of course) tend to be most emotionally stable

Really? Its men who do the honour killings. Its men who kill women in jealous rages. Its men who have killed children to spite mothers. Its men who kill 'grasses'. Its men who form violent gangs and kill other gangsters for' 'disrespecting' them.

This idea that men are most emotionally stable is a complete myth. Women may be more likely to cry but men are more likely to get angry and violently vengeful, and those things are emotions too. People have to ignore violent anger as an emotion to claim men are less emotional.

I think you get emotionally unstable people of both sexes, men tend to respond to negative emotions with anger, threats and violence, emotionally unstable women tend to play mind games and use psychological warfare. Just my experiences with my parents! Seems common though!

Watched this with my DC this year.

We all agreed..

.. that you're wrong.

Sorry 😄

The top 10 movies on Netflix or apple (can’t remember which) included ‘Holiday’ and ‘Die Hard’ in Australia so the proof is in the Christmas pudding.

Hilarious this Die Hard debate, have to watch it

Not everyone is suited to lifelong monogamy and non-monogamous relationships should be celebrated too.

Quite like the idea of a fixed-term renewable partnership, too.

Personally, I don't think any relationships should be celebrated other than by the people in them. The rest of the world can butt out.
