A random question about “The Santa Clause”

Was watching the first one last night and something occurred to me about the second one (which we are watching now).

Santa loses his powers if he doesn’t get married by Christmas Eve. Ok. We can run with that….but then it never mentions what happened to the Mrs Clause to the Santa who fell off the roof?

Was she already dead? Did she disappear when her husband did? Or is it just a very glaring plot flaw?

It’s just a plot hole.
What I’d like to know is why the elves don’t give a crap that previous Santa has died in the first one. They’re not bothered in the slightest.

He murdered his wife years ago - the elves were delighted when he fell off the roof but player it cool.

We assumed she had gone back to her previous life when he died, or the writers just didn't think about it!!!

I only watched the first one last night, didn't know there was a 2 so now watching that, thankyou!!

There’s 3 actually!!! All available on disney plus. The 3rd one isn’t as good but it’s still watchable

Mrs Clause asks the elves the same question in the santa clauses. They tell her its classified.
