Anyone else have a stinking cold today?

Caught it at the dentist on Friday. Weekend in bed unable to move for tiredness, and fever and chills…. fever broke Sunday. Felt more alive yesterday and ate something and was up a few hours. Finally slept last night. Today, was able to walk in the garden for 10 minutes to feel the sun and now coughing. I’m hoping tomorrow to feel more decent and maybe by the end of the week go on a small outing.

I wish all fellow cold-sufferers as merry of a Christmas as you can have and speedy recovery.

I woke up with a sore throat this morning - not in the swallowing part where your tonsils are (ex-tonsils in my case), it's sore behind my nose - the bit that rattles when you snore!

I don't really have any aches to speak of, I felt strangely cold in front of a roaring fire earlier but it didn't last, I don't have a headache or a cough or a temperature. Just this sore sensation, a bit of an achey feeling in my ears/back of my jaw, some random stomach twinges and just that "unwell" feeling. But I've been up and about all day and ate a modest Christmas dinner that DH cooked with no ill effects so far.

I'm spiralling slightly - I don't have health anxiety as such, but my experience of covid was pretty awful in 2020 and I do have some anxiety about getting it - or flu - again. Covid started mildly for me then wiped me off my feet on day 5, so I worry that it's just the start. Flu usually strikes you down badly and quickly.

Oh no.

I’m on the mend, and actually ate properly today and had a short walk with DH. Still coughing a bit, but i think it is on its way out. Speedy healing to all of you

Hi op, I started off with the same symptoms as you and tested positive for covid yesterday . Cough is worse than ever :-(

Oh no. I don’t have COVID…still have some test kits, just a garden variety cold, which after six days is on its way out. Just a slight cough now and a little tired.

By way of an update, I went through 3 days of feeling a bit ropey, no appetite with a mild but travelling sore throat (it's worked it's way down to the larynx now) - then my appetite returned and I felt fine again, just with blocked ears and sinuses. Now it's day 5, my head is stuffed to bursting, I can't hear much other than my own heartbeat in my ears, I've got a deep rumbling cough and I feel shit again.

Bloody thing. I haven't tested for covid as I've had no fever and no body or skin pains and I haven't had to take to my bed (as much as I'm tempted to this evening) so I reckon it's just a vicious cold. I had a 2 hour nap this afternoon.

How's everyone else feeling?

Ah heck that’s rough. I wonder if it developed into a sinus infection?

I’m mostly better except still coughing…not enough to stop me from sleeping, but just throughout the day. I had my first outing from the house today since the festive season started…visit to a stately home, some lunch, a walk in the sun.
Day 10 tomorrow and hoping it goes away soon.

I take it all back, headache/body aches and shivering started overnight, I can barely speak (my head and throat feel full of rocks) and I can't smell or taste anything. I am sitting up in bed idly scrolling and despite having chills I don't seem to have a fever (temp 37.4), so let's hope this stage is short-lived. It's day 6!

Glad at least the fever stopped. When mine broke, I started recovering much faster. I hope you get well soon @Gingervitis
