I love a "I'm at the in-laws and I'm starving"
Also "dp didn't propose"

Obviously this is very lighthearted

I read somewhere that he's doing it on Bluesky this year.

You’re right - it’s up and running.

lonelywater · 24/12/2024 16:30

massive family rows with people storming out is always a winner.

Marmaladegin · 24/12/2024 16:32

Genuinely hoping for another Roka sample sale swapping... maybe that wasn't actually on Christmas Day but soon after? Loved it though

There was a good one last year about people putting up with really rubbish sleeping arrangements: "I'm in my uncle's utility room sleeping on a ladder resting between the washing machine and the tumble dryer with my six nieces sleeping underneath" sort of thing.

I remember that one 😂. I never understand why people put up with wild sleeping arrangements, if there’s not room book a hotel instead of sleeping head to toe with great Auntie Maude.

I've already read my favourite 'freezing at in-laws' thread, culminating in someone claiming that they are most comfortable between 9 and 11c 🤣🤣🤣

It’s my own fault for failing to bring secret snacks!!

PuppyMonkey · 24/12/2024 16:47

It’s a bit early yet but I do like a “how can I get my guests to leave” thread.Grin

TheLiloAndTheSlowCooker · 24/12/2024 16:47

@EmotionalSupportBiscuit @UndeniablyGenXmasOfAWomblingMerryType Rhodri Marsden is doing Duvet Know It's Christmas on Bluesky this year!

In my case it's how soon I can politely leave

Can I show off my fridge…which is always greeted to a cacophony of…that’s so inconsiderate to those who have empty fridges

HermoinePotter · 24/12/2024 16:55

I always feel sorry for the posters whose feckless other halves never bother to get them a gift. The replies are normally along the lines of “you should be grateful to have received a home made card from your children”, “buy one yourself” etc. I also like what did you get for Christmas threads and laugh at the bitchy jealous comments on those ones.

You can't just leaving us hanging like that! What food is actually on offer? Are snacks between meals banned? Have you got a secret food stash upstairs somewhere? Spill!

Edited

Snacking is very frowned upon even if one did a 90minutes run earlier. Dinner is in the oven, I’m might have to raid the nuts first though. My stomach is actually rumbling.

MiddleAgedDread · 24/12/2024 17:11

Hey don’t knock the Aldi bubbly @janfebmar87 they do some decent stuff!! 🥂

janfebmar87 · 24/12/2024 17:13

@MiddleAgedDread oh I'm not. I guessing a thread. £50 a head with Aldi champagne strictly portioned lol

Will dinner be sufficient to fill you up though?! How long are you staying?

MiddleAgedDread · 24/12/2024 17:22

Too long @DowntonNabby !! Have already checked local hotel availability.
