We've ran out of celebrations. Tragic.

OP posts:

Having to go to Sainsbury’s because I forgot to order cream on grocery delivery that arrived this morning.

Can’t you just take it to a glass bin at the supermarket?

Only one supermarket in my area has a glass bottle bank, I also don't drive. I'm not sitting on the bus with two glass bottle bags for 40 minutes when the local council take half my wages in tax for a service they don't bloody do properly.

Livinginadream · 24/12/2024 15:48

I got Christmasy toilet paper instead of kitchen roll. Why would I want to wipe my arse with a snow man?

AHFBridport · 24/12/2024 15:49

None of my M&S Sparks offers being available at my local branch. Grr.

Cheekychop84 · 24/12/2024 15:49

My tumble dryer has stopped working. Was working last night. The exact one I need is available for collection from argos but not delivery. I don't drive and husband is recovering from an operation that took place at the start of the year and still unable to drive. We'll also have to organise removal of the old one.

EmotionalSupportBiscuit · 24/12/2024 15:50

I don’t want to wear the top I’ve got ready for tomorrow. I want to wear a silvery grey fluffy jumper because someone mentioned one on Style and Beauty. I do not own a silvery grey fluffy jumper. This has got me irrationally vexed 😠

MyOtherCarIsAPorsche · 24/12/2024 15:51

@AsTheLightFades

He probably has - been out since about 10am and not back yet.

Think he's gone to make his own.

Being 9 months pregnant 😬

NancyJoan · 24/12/2024 15:54

We have four-month-old kittens. They are trashing the tree more each day. It is getting on my last nerve.

ehb102 · 24/12/2024 15:55

I got hit on the head by a tin of golden syrup that fell out of the cupboard. It hurt! I don't seem to have concussion but I decided not to make the chocolate log and bought two instead.

HangingOver · 24/12/2024 15:56

Bloody Covid. Had it over two weeks ago and I can barely keep my eyes open still.

Have you got a can of WD40 you could go and spray it liberally with?!

I have thought about it but technically it is not my gate. It belongs to Bâtiment E, whereas I am Bâtiment A and I am only just recovering from being falsely accused (and clearing my name, I might add) of causing a water leak in the downstairs pharmacy when I live two storeys up and about 200 metres to the south of said apothecary last month (see posts on threads passim) and I just want to keep my head down around here for the moment.

ChittyChittyBoomBoom · 24/12/2024 15:56

One of the kids (looking you you did 👀) has lost the wheel thingy on the sellotape dispenser. The wrapping is taking FOREVER . I’ve actually cried 🙈.

It was his faulty air conditioning system.

I have the flu. DH has been spectacularly useless when I needed him to do stuff today because I feel so rotten. All he's done since 7am this morning is go to the chemist for me and buy some medicine, and put lights on our tree outside the front door, something he said he would do a fortnight ago. Oh yes, and he made his own lunch, but not mine, and didn't notice that the jar of mayo was almost completely empty.

He decided to do a couple of hours work this morning instead of going to the bloody supermarket like I asked him to, so I had to cough my way round there and get the milk, bread and salad while he was at work, and I've also made two different sorts of stuffing for tomorrow and cooked the gammon. I've had to go out again this afternoon to buy more sodding mayonnaise. He's now having a snooze on the sofa. Meanwhile, the house is a complete tip and loads of things need tidying away. I simply feel too ill to do it, and don't have the wherewithal, but apparently he was up early this morning so he needs a nap.

I'm a bit pissed off to be honest.

This would be enough for me to LTB

Thé Festival of 9 lessons and carols from Kings is still on R4 right now! That will soothe any minor troubles ✨

BeyondMyWits · 24/12/2024 16:09

Had a tooth out 2 weeks ago. Gum is infected. Antibiotics mean I can't have a drop of alcohol... no sherry trifle or boozy xmas pud. Having the socket washed out and packed today, means no "sharp or crunchy" foods. Nuts, pringles... my favourites....

My gum feels great now, ten times better... so just feeling sorry for myself.

IsItWickedNotToCare · 24/12/2024 16:10

A stinking cold !

I wanted a box of Guinness for my lovely dad. I've been to 6 shops today and can't get any! DH says there's a national shortage - sad times!

Someone told me this too! I couldn't get any for DH in Tesco, Sainsbury's or Asda yesterday. Finally got some in the village shop which never usually as anything more than a loaf of bread and an onion.

Firsttimetrier · 24/12/2024 16:23

I think it’s minor as having a healthy baby is the biggest priority, but not knowing if I’ll be going into labour over the Christmas period.

Ideally, nothing happens until the 27th, but at 38+3 and same gestation as when my DS arrived, every little twinge is questionable.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 24/12/2024 16:23

I’ve been struck with one of this years lurgies.

Sore throat, aches, sweats/shivers, earache, cough that makes my lungs feel like they’re on fire……

ds2 has just said he’s got a sore throat.

Not good timing.

Cadburymonster · 24/12/2024 16:25

I forgot to put my green bin out. Rang the council straight away as soon as I realised and asked them to come back if it would be ok. They said the bin lorry is working until half 5 and might. They haven't been back yet 😭. I heard the lorry this morning but had my dressing gown on and toddler having a tantrum in my arms so I couldn't run out with it either 🙃

TribulationPeriwinkle · 24/12/2024 16:27

Just opened the parcel containing my DP’s main present to wrap it - some shoes he both wants and desperately needs - and they’ve sent the wrong sodding size.

TigerRag · 24/12/2024 16:28

The dog won't leave me alone

RIBlue · 24/12/2024 15:21

Just found a security tag on a present I was about to wrap.

Minor? Minor?! That would send me into a fit of the vapours.
