Your unique Christmas traditions

I’ve just made a pain surprise for DH and me; it’s essentially rounds of sliced bread sandwiches with different fillings stacked in a tower and you take one and are ´surprised’ by the filling (a good surprise, one would hope!) Typically sweet and savoury fillings are mixed, but as we’re not that bothered about Nutella or jam (and have no chestnut paste left) it’s just savoury fillings this time.

Pain surprise is pretty common in France for parties or apéritif snacking but I have never seen or heard of them anywhere else!

What will you be doing this Christmas that could be considered ‘unique’?

Around the Christmas period every time I mention a duvet to DP (such as, “I’m bring the duvet down to watch a movie.” or “Can you help me put the clean duvet cover on?” he says

”Duvet know it’s Christmas time?”

Every time. He’s done it for years.
