In hospital for Christmas - anyone keep me company?

I'm in hospital at the moment (mental health unit) and will be here over Christmas. I won't see family and I'm feeling pretty fed up and lonely right now. Hoping someone may be up for keeping me company with some distracting chit chat?!

Here are a couple of cat photos. Both have spent a lot of time sleeping off turkey dinners this Christmas. Girl cat (the skinny blonde tabby) has lifted the pack of cat treats from Santa and ate them all. Boy cat (bigger and darker) has learned to open tubs of sweets with one paw, whilst sitting on the lid (not an easy task as he’s 6.5kg) and use the other paw to reach in and flick sweets out for DS12 to eat.

Thanks @nocarbs I have no idea about the plan moving forwards which is stressful - it's not a good time of year to be admitted for that reason....
Ah I've not seen it but don't have prime or apple unfortunately!

I can imagine that must be very stressful. I'm sorry. Hope being there is helping to get you better in some way at least.

Had another thought - are you on dualingo? I love it. Learning Spanish just now. But you can choose any language.

We need to see this cat trick. Can you film it?

I keep trying to! Unfortunately every time he sees the camera he stops what he’s doing and stares at me. If I manage I’ll share it.

Brooklyn Nine Nine is my go to on Netflix at the moment for something easy and fun. Goodness knows how many times I’ve rewatched it. I’ve also just bookmarked The Holiday to rewatch when I need something mindless.

Hope you feel better soon OP, and are able to get home. Thinking of you

BiodegradableCutlery · 28/12/2024 14:43

Thanks @Holly. Funnily enough I watched a couple of episodes of Brooklyn Nine Nine the other day so I will carry on with that. The holiday is a great shout too!

Just wanted to thank everyone who kept me company and to say I have now come home! Things are still quite tricky but it's miles better than being on the ward.
I'm really greatful for the company and chat at a tricky time
