Best time for reduced turkey crown?

I have Christmas Day sorted as we go to DM's, but she cooks a chicken. DH likes turkey so I said we could see what was reduced and get one to have a couple of days later. What day/time do things generally start getting reduced in the supermarkets? I have Sainsbury's, Waitrose and M&S nearby.

Definitely tomorrow - I’ve left it until 30 minutes before closing in the past. It’s nerve wracking but if you’ve got a back up chicken you can make a good saving.

Sainsbury's 4/5pm

You need to check store closing times for Christmas Eve as most are shutting earlier so normal reduction times will change plus there'll be more than usual because we have to do the Christmas Day dates as well.

Honestly I think you will need to be lucky. They will reduce them tomorrow but there are literally tons of people like you who are only out shopping for the reduced food. They go in groups and buy whatever they can lay their hands on just because it's cheap.
We had to set up special barriers it got so bad.

Possibly go upmarket or to smaller shops that get forgotten. The food charities and staff will have the leftovers so it doesn't go to waste.

M&S is like the Hunger Games the last hour before closing. People are circling around waiting for the turkeys to be reduced. In ours last year the staff was reducing and hiding them in random places around the shop to stop people fighting over them.

Last year I got one of the few turkeys left at 10am on Christmas Eve. This was in Tesco. All of the regular turkeys had gone, so I got a free range one for about £25.

We just throw ours in green trays and take it out the warehouse to be reduced then toss it back out, it's like throwing a steak in a tank of piranha fish.

I have seen people actually fighting for reduced turkeys in M&S on Christmas eve. A really unpleasant atmosphere.
