Anyone else feel like this ? I've not been out for lots of Christmas meals or drinks but I've generally been surrounded by it all. By Christmas day I don't want any more, let alone see any food. I barely eat or drink Christmas day.

We had a roast today, not sure when Christmas Day is, but we will have hD about 4 by then. But it's out fave SO I don't mind at all.

mynameiscalypso · 22/12/2024 21:30

I was just thinking that very same thing. We had Christmas lunch with friends last week. A birthday lunch this weekend and there's just so much food everywhere.

sprigatito · 22/12/2024 21:31

No, I don't feel like that at all. I am really looking forward to Christmas dinner and enjoying all the treats we've bought.

Does this cause a problem? Do you want to have a good appetite on Christmas day. Do you generally have a poor appetite?

I'm careful that I dont eat similar foods in the run up to the day, so no roast today for example. But unless I've been overeating I'll definitely want to eat and drink.

wigsonthegreenandhatsforthelifting · 22/12/2024 21:32

I had three meals out in the last week. After 2 turkey dinners, I was ready for something different on Friday night!

I tend to lose weight over Christmas weirdly! I hope I do this year because I put on a few lbs on holiday in Italy a few weeks back!

Diversion · 22/12/2024 21:38

I completely understand. By the time I have spent weeks planning for, shopping for, thinking about and cooking a Christmas Dinner and a huge buffet for Boxing Day I really dont enjoy any of it at all.

Gruffling · 22/12/2024 21:45

Yes! All the Christmas stuff has been in the supermarket for a month, so I've been having things like mince pies and stolen for weeks now.

Craving some really healthy food

AwakeNotThruChoice · 22/12/2024 21:47

Yes
Have been to my mums today with all the siblings and family. Buffet was out!! All the usual. Cheese etc..
Now I am home I feel sick. Combo of rich food, not drinking enough water and sitting about.

Disturbia81 · 22/12/2024 21:47

Your mistake is eating Christmas food early.. I don't have any until 24th onwards and then it's all amazing 😆

I don't understand, you had lunch twice in two weeks?

MostHighlyFlavoredGravy · 22/12/2024 21:48

Nope, Christmas Day isn't until Wednesday and I'm looking forward to celebrating then and for the week or so thereafter Xmas Smile

mynameiscalypso · 22/12/2024 21:49

@ElderLemon I meant Christmas/celebration lunches - multiple courses, dessert, cheese, wine etc.

PokerFriedDips · 22/12/2024 21:51

We don't start having special Christmas things early. Advent is like Lent, a time for reflection and preparation. Then the feasting can start on Christmas Eve and continue until 12th Night without running out of steam.

No. You need to learn to pace yourself.

TwinkleLights24 · 22/12/2024 21:53

I haven’t even started yet.

Chocolately · 22/12/2024 21:53

Agree. I looked in the fridge earlier and thought, yes, too much stuff, as usual. Probably more than enough food to see us into the new year. We also had a very nice M&S hamper as a gift.
I've already had enough of mince pies and chocolate. My DH cooks Christmas dinner though, so I always really enjoy that.

BendingSpoons · 22/12/2024 21:55

I'm a bit jealous! We had soup and rolls for lunch today (typical weekend lunch) and I was thinking I could really do with some nice cheese or maybe a turkey sandwich. I've had one (not huge) roast for a work do 2 weeks ago, 2 mince pies and a fair amount of Quality Street added up, but only a few at a time. I'm looking forward to all the food!

RickiRaccoon · 22/12/2024 22:06

I hold out till Christmas for this reason and to make it more special. The only Christmas food I've had is 1/2 a mince pie.

myfluffyslippers · 22/12/2024 22:10

Tbh I've barely eaten much. 2 Christmas meals out over last 2 weeks. I haven't even had turkey or Xmas pud yet. Just been surrounded by food everywhere. We will host 12 of us on the day. We have a lot of food in for it but I'm already fed up with all the food at home, in the shops, thrown in my face via the tv.

I have a decent appetite, DH calls me greedy, light hearted. I will pick at my dinner Christmas day and barely eat despite the fact I love a good roast and it's cooked for me by DH. I tidy up. I won't touch the cheese etc in the eve. And I love cheese. Just go right off it all at Christmas

Don't eat Christmas food too early, then.

leia24 · 22/12/2024 22:15

I haven't eaten a single festive or out of the ordinary thing yet..maybe I am doing Christmas wrong

Oh yes!!
My birthday is mid-November and that’s when I have my first mince pie of the season! I have been ill twice with chest infections since then and have been really off my food (lost a bit of my belly - yay!) but now I’m sort of “past” all the Christmas food… don’t fancy it at all! Every time I open cupboards, it’s all a bit 🤮 Hope DP will polish it all off in next 10 days. I fancy salads tbh!
