Tried to combat tiredness of ageing with many cups coffee. didn't work so dragged my old bones to the pool for swim. came home fell asleep on sofa, cooked dinner.
I am old.

murasaki · 22/12/2024 21:37

Dyed my hair, bleached the cat litter tray, laughed long and hard at two football matches on the telly and gone to the local for a Sunday Roast. Currently dying from being overstuffed while watching an old Have I got News for You.

CandyCane5 · 22/12/2024 21:37

Froze over the park while the kids let off some steam, tidied/cleaned up, changed beds, watched a film, napped on the sofa, had a bath and ordered a Chinese take away.

Got up and had rice krispies with sultanas as I forgot to buy porridge oats then drove DS to church. Delivered a card to my friend with the lurgy (put it through her letterbox), returned to car, eventually figured DS was still across the road shouting to see if I could take home the presents someone had kindly given him.
Went back home, sorted some washing (hung some out, brought some in) and read my book.
Emptied dishwasher. DD surfaced just before 12 and did scrambled egg and sausage as a kind of brunch for us so had that then took her to work for 2. Bit of a traffic jam coming back but not too bad.
Got home to find that DH had done salmon and rice for the two of us, so ended up having two meals close together.
Thought about writing cards for the neighbours but my left elbow is still really sore from clip and climb weeks ago, so hoping DD will do it tomorrow.
Changed bed into slightly scruffier sheets rather than my best ones, as to my annoyance a period has arrived. I'm 55 at the end of this month fgs and should be past this!
Picked DD up from work, decided not to bother with tea for myself so left them to it and went and had a bath and washed hair then did my feet with Aveeno.
Played dominoes with DS and DD then scrabble with DD - she used all her 7 letters 4 times meaning she got 4 x 50 point bonus whilst I only managed that once. Final score was 440 -299.
Won a tiny prize of £5 Rakuten voucher so thought i'd enter a few more comps but most of the Christmas ones have already finished - never mind, really not felt like comping for ages.
Really looking forward to a day not driving (because of my elbow) so have told DS we'll not be doing church on Christmas Eve, just on Christmas Day.
Thans for this thread @Cornecopia

Have had a hellishly busy few days. Best friend and her OH came to visit today- we were meant to go out but we were all so shattered (I still haven't showered!!!) we just stayed in and ate food, watched films and played games. A really welcome rest. I'm proud of myself for doing all of the major house bits earlier in the week so only hoovering tomorrow and the normal daily stuff. Been lovely to spend the day with DC going nowhere!

Went for a run first thing in the gale force winds! Came home, stripped the bed and got in the shower. Took the dog to my parents and stayed for a quick brew. Couple of shops/garden centre for Xmas present click & collects. Visited and friend for a little festive get together with their toddlers. Home via the chippy to do some work in front of a Christmas film, trying to make the work week as painless as possible! Now bed with clean sheets!

SatsumaCat · 22/12/2024 22:53

Walk with a friend
Bit of tidying
Had english breakfast with DH at cafe
Made mince pies
Santas grotto at shopping centre and hot chocolate with DS and MIL then picked up some bits at M&S and Asda before getting bus home
DH made lasagne
Ate stollen made by DD and watched The Santa Claise with kids
(also did 6 loads of washing as had free electricity today)
Started watching Netflix series 'Self Made' about Madame CJ Walker which I liked too.

I’m currently led in bed drinking a coffee, writing todays to do list of all house work to be done.
I also need to buy a chicken which I think DH will be tasked with.

Put a live train ride in the North Pole on YouTube! Hours of background to look at whilst the kids are playing!

HelpMeGetThrough · 23/12/2024 09:44

Venturing out to get the last couple of presents for my OH. I've hardly been out for 5 weeks as recovering from major surgery.

Need to see if I can remember how to drive. Just waiting for someone to bang into me in the shop and see if I end up a yelping mess on the floor.

Wish me luck, I'm going over the top!! 🤣🤣

wavingfuriously · 23/12/2024 12:42
