I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot, after boy kitten woke me up climbing through Christmas Narnia in the bedroom 🙄 . Both kittens are now snuggled up in their favourite spots on the cat tree for a snooze 💤

I'm just about to catch up with Christmas Chronicles, while it's peaceful. I've been trying all week but just too tired to concentrate. Once I've read, I'll have a quick tidy round down here & probably clean the bathroom. There'll be towels to tumble dry, too, once the washer finishes.

Our only real plan for the day is to wander to Lidl for sweets for the gingerbread house & a bottle of their Bailey's dupe 😋
If there's time later, we'll do some baking & I'll pre-bake a birthday cake for Thursday.

The girls dad is going to nip to big Asda for a coat for work (they gave him a giftcard for Christmas, so using that), and the Radley shop at the Outlet to try and find dd2 a bag like mine for her birthday on the 28th.

It'll be something from the freezer for tea, then showers all round & chill. I'll probably pick up my crochet church, although it'll not be done for this Christmas either 🙄. Maybe next year!

Travelling soon to drop off family Xmas presents and which I meant to do yesterday but we overdid it on Friday so no alcohol for me

Being poorly in bed.

But also making an effort to do laundry. Gradually. In between being unwell.

Also my garden gate blew down during the storm and I’m wondering what to do about it. I’m not bad at DIY, but I am unwell, so it’s harder.

Finished a night shift, had a cup of tea and unwinding before I go to bed.

M&S as soon as it opens. Then meeting my best friend for lunch while DH and DS go into town for my Christmas present. As much tidying as I can do after that. Then fajitas for tea with National Lampoons Christmas Vacation 👌🏻

It’s my birthday today so our family are going out for lunch. Then this evening Dh and I are off to see The Unthanks.

Out late last night for our wedding anniversary, but still woke up at 6 so crept downstairs to read on the sofa. DH still asleep, DD at her dads until tomorrow.

Have to go out to collect my Christmas cake today so may have a quick beach walk whilst we're there to wake me up! Feel exhausted.

Home for last nights Casualty and a very very early night!

Good morning @lucysmam & everyone. In bed & have had the first cuppa of the day. I need to get up & at ‘em as DF needs to go food shopping so I’m going to sit with DM. The dishwasher needs unloading/loading & there’s a load of laundry to be hung out if the sunshine stays. Really must clear the kitchen table! There are carrier bags of stuff all over the house so DH & I need to sort everything out. He’s popping into a local town for last minute Christmas shopping once he’s cleaned out the bunnies. DD16 needs to go to the Inpost locker with more Vinted parcels. I need to buy sausages as forgot to defrost a pack overnight. We’re having them with double cream mash, broccoli & Bisto sausage gravy. Oh & still have pressies to wrap.

Today is all about cleaning the house and doing the last bit of meal planning / food & gift shopping. We have friends coming over tonight and the in-laws arrive tomorrow so hopefully we can get most of the chores done and actually start to enjoy the season! In saying that, we had our solstice feast last night and I have somehow evaded the hangover despite the fizz and spicy margaritas! So not all grafting! But I was feeling a bit stressy yesterday so today I'm going to try and be a bit more chilled. Carols are on to give the housework a veneer of festivity and my to do lists are primed. Have a good day, everyone.

I dropped DD to work at 7. Came home, emptied the dishwasher and put on a washload.

I'm going to have a rasher sandwich shortly and then crack on with a list of jobs around the house.

Might have a brief nap, although I feel ok for now.

The weather is awful, so I told DD I'll pick her up at 4 when she finishes work. I'll put petrol in my car and pick up some coal for the fire.

Dinner will be baby new potatoes, sweetcorn and burgers - quick and easy. Isn't it a pain how we still have to make dinner every day, even with everything else going on .

Going to soak in the bath later.

Off to get our Christmas food shop. Was hoping to get to the cinema either tomorrow or Tuesday to see Sonic 3, but my eldest is full of cold now 🤦‍♀️ So might have to go after Christmas. Aww well....we shall see.

Need to put another coat of radiator paint on radiators. Love a bit of DIY. Then chilling 😁 Hope everyone has a lovely day planned.

Hello, I'm drinking coffee with a cat next to me, everyone else is chilling but I'm calling breakfast in five minutes and then all hands on deck for hoovering, cleaning rooms etc.

DH is taking the children to meet a friend for the afternoon so I can finish the wrapping and have a quiet bath in peace. Extra bonus is. I don't have to. Cook any dinner as they are eating out. I can just have crackers, cheese and chocolate without anyone bothering me. Bliss.

@TheLightSideOfTheMoon I think the garden gate can wait til you feel better.

Morning! I’m lounging in bed with the cats, as it was DH turn to get up with DS. I slept terribly again and now have a sore throat as well, so I’ll get up to make a cup of tea in a minute in the hope that helps. We’re having a lazy morning but I need to get through some laundry and maybe do some exercise if I feel up to it. Then later we’re off out for a big family get together.

Good morning Lucysmam and others. I slept til after eight. Unheard of!! I've put a washing on and had breakfast. I should be heading to Aldi for a small shop, however I have a friend doing the Christmas presents drop and dash in a while. I might leave Aldi til after that, although I'm half regretting that decision. Later I'll finish wrapping presents -not much to do - and visit mum. Chicken filo pie for dinner, if I go to Aldi! Enjoy your day

@Taytocrisps is a rasher sandwich a bacon sandwich? I've never heard it called that! Totally with you on still having to make dinner every day being a pain!

Just made the cranberry sauce. Now having a coffee and a croissant before going off to fetch DS2 from the back end of nowhere. (Christmas party last night- very rural Wales). Then come home to decorate the Christmas cake 😁

Went out last night with friends and feeling it this morning but taking the doggo for a nice walk and then have our friend and her new partner coming over for a Chinese! Have a lovely day everyone

I'm still in bed just about to get my 2nd coffee and let the dogs invade.

I'm not feeling great but looking outside ii can see blue sky, so I may wrap up and walk today.

I think I'm petty much done buying gifts, DH is doing the Christmas food shop today I think.

So all in a lazy day for me.

Not a lot as the forecast is rubbish!

Just bathing youngest DD then I need to muster the energy for a weights workout and a run if the rain eases off as it's currently torrential showers of hail!

Also need to clean out the fish.

No other plans. Will need to pick two eldest DDs from their dad later this evening.

@lucysmam yes, rashers are bacon slices. We would say rasher sandwich in Ireland as opposed to a bacon sandwich.

Just handed in my final assignment for my masters. So celebrating or napping I guess.

Morning @lucysmam and the Sunday gang. Just having a cup of tea in bed. Had an awful sleep. Just kept waking.

Son has friends over for a sleepover. Made their breakfast. I’ll make mine after my tea. Taking them all out later to a panto.

Tonight roast chicken and mash. Another Christmas present assessment needed .

A little bit of work to prepare for a meeting tomorrow AM - doing it today means I can have a more relaxed start tomorrow and roll in at 9.45 for the meeting.

Need to make some more mince pies and have a good clean. Nine lessons and carols at the Cathedral this evening. I'm not a Christian but do love sacred music.

Clearing the decks day today so that I can clean the house tomorrow morning and relax on Xmas Eve. A trip to pick up a few last minute bits and wrapping my son's presents. Everybody else is done but he's 13 and it's been difficult to hide stuff so I need to get that done today. Currently sitting with the cat having a coffee. Oh I also need to exercise and it's a lovely day for it!
