What thermometer for kids?

What type of thermometer are you all using for your kids? (4yo here if that makes any difference)

We have a digital one that goes under the arm and an in-ear one and they both give very different readings and I never know which one to go with. This morning the underarm is saying 37.6 but the in-ear is 38.7.

We’ve all been struck down with this awful fever/cough/cold since Wednesday and DSs temperature has been up and down since then. Wed was up at 39, but reducing with alternating paracetamol/ibuprofen. Thurs was a bit lower. Friday temp seemed fine all day but he was still under the weather and feeling rubbish. Yesterday temp was back up in the 38s.
DH and I both feel awful and have both been up and down with fever etc for days so I’m assuming it’s just running the same course in us all - but with DS being so young should I be getting him checked with a temp going on so long?

Just bumping for you as I was thinking about asking this myself. Got a two year old who won't stay still long enough to take a temperature 😅
