If you're hosting Christmas, how many people are you spending the day with?

There's going to be 9 here, 6 more than normal... 😬

there will be 9 of us in total and I’m really looking forward to it. Sometimes wish we had a bit of a larger family as we are fortunate enough to have space to host, but we make the most of the family we do have.

There will be 26 here on Christmas Day.

There will be one hour of the day where it’s too stressful and I’ll vow never again. Then once we’re all sat down round the tables and eating it’ll be so good and it’ll be worth it

BigJanette · 21/12/2024 16:36

There will be 14 in total for dinner, but the 6 more than normal are staying over - 4 for 2 nights, and 2 are staying for a week.

26 @ARichtGoodDram !!
You could cater my 14 with your eyes closed!

11... 8 staying in my small 3 bed house... person tetris!

Feeding 9 lunch + dinner.

I relax the moment the main xmas meal is on the table at 2pm. Then I've done my bit and xmas starts for me.

6 of us, 3 will be guests staying over for two nights. All adults except for my 16 year old. It's a manageable amount but even so I get a bit stressed. Dh will do a lot to help though.

8 (plus Aunt Bessie).

We're hosting tomorrow for DH's birthday but also an early Christmas; there will be 9 of us. On Christmas Day it will be just be the three of us, PILs and SIL. The on the 27th, we'll go to my parents and I think there will be 12 of us.

I'm very jealous of those with big Christmas plans. That was usual when I was growing up and we'd always have at least 16 people, from both sides of my parents' families and it was so noisy and jolly and fun. We have a much smaller family now and my parents and in laws don't really get on well so we never do anything together.

There's only 4 of us this year, but 8 to 10 used to be fairly normal.

Stormyweatheroutthere · 21/12/2024 18:37

Me, dh and 7 dc... A normal night once a week anyway!

Breezeyblock · 21/12/2024 18:38

24 and I'm already slightly regretting my enthusiasm...!

Parker231 · 21/12/2024 18:38

17 of us - all staying at DSil. Can’t wait. It’s a stress free relaxing time for everyone. Three generations together - both sides of our families.
