According to TMZ Blake Lively is suing Justin Baldoni for sexual harassment on the set of ‘It Ends With Us’.

According to the lawsuit, a meeting was held in regards to the hostile work environment. Blake demanded that Baldoni stop showing nude videos or images of women to her, no more mention of Baldoni's alleged previous "pornography addiction," no more discussions about sexual conquests in front of Blake and others, no further mentions of cast and crew's genitalia, no more inquiries about Blake's weight, and no further mention of Blake's dead father and no more adding of sex scenes, oral sex or on camera climaxing by Blake outside of the script Blake approved when signing onto the project.

Baldoni’s representative have denied the allegations and state this is an effort for Blake to rehabilitate her recent poor image.

Men (Tom Cruise and Christian Bale to name a couple) can have expletive-laden meltdowns on set where they berate crew members and not a blip in their career. Name a woman 'difficult' and it can tank hers. And since women have a much shorter career in Hollywood, a small time in the wilderness can be a whole career.

It isn't the same in PR terms at all.

Yeah I saw an interview where tom cruise told an interviewer to stop asking him questions

And Tom Cruise was applauded for it.

And again I'll ask you - as you think that the system is so unfair,

what are you personally doing to help, to make the system better?

@Moonfasa100

How does asking questions about the institution of law in our land and the philosophical institution of truth merit an "I won't answer until you declare your credentials"?

I am just trying to follow your argument here.

The poster asked the same question many time because, as she rightly said, you did not answer.

Clearly you are under no obligation to answer any questions, but if you claim you have answered when clearly you have not, either there is an argument being made that I cannot follow or you are gaslighting.

Help me out here?

noblegiraffe · 23/12/2024 22:07

Yes, it doesn't seem to cost much to have your smear campaign appear on the timeline of a middle-aged woman in a completely different country who had zero interest in that sort of thing, in large enough quantities to register.

Right? I have never watched a BL or RR movie or read a Colleen Hoover book, but my whole feed was flooded with stuff about how difficult BL was. I may have idly Googled Justin Baldoni once as I had never heard of him.
It's so creepy.

I always find it strange how posters cherry pick patterns behaviour to suit themselves, depending on who's side they're on .

You said that I didn't answer her questions.

She also hasn't answered any of my questions.

So why did you just say that about me? And not about her?

Your post completely criticises my behaviour and your post speaks positively on her behaviour, so obviously you're not neutral.

andIsaid · 23/12/2024 22:46

Moonfasa100 · 23/12/2024 22:05

I don't think her reputation was totally ruined last year though.

I remember people saying that she was a bit rude in one interview.

Then other people said at the time, that "she's allowed to be rude and tired. Lots of male celebrities are"

That's all that was said.

You seem to very on top of this story.

Have you been following it since last year?

I only zoomed in on it after the NYT article.

PR marketing strategies are used for every celebrity .

Apparently a lot of celebrity relationships are fake too, they sign a contract to pretend to be in a relationship. As the fake relationship gets them publicity

Amber heard, from what little I can see of her, seems to have recovered from it and had moved on.

There was a video of her out and about recently. She looks very happy

She will never work again.

He destroyed her.

How can you tell of someone has moved on and is happy from a video?

Moonfasa100 · 23/12/2024 22:50

andIsaid · 23/12/2024 22:47

Because in the video, the reporter asked her how her life was after the trial.. And amber heard responded with something like "my life is good". I remember that she gave a positive answer.

I'll have to look it up again to see exactly what she said

andIsaid · 23/12/2024 22:50

Moonfasa100 · 23/12/2024 22:11

You know the interview where Blake lively was called rude last year.

The interviewer has talked about it recently, she said that she wasn't contacted to do anything as part of any smear campaign

Funnily enough that same interviewer dropped something on Amer H during the Johnny Depp trial according to the NYT.

Interesting coincidence no?

I wouldn't say he destroyed her.

Peoples lives go on after these cases are over.

Amber heard has been seen out and about recently, having fun with her daughter

I do think that this particular interviewer may have been financially persuaded to release a few things, yes.

kirinm · 23/12/2024 22:53

@andIsaid that same interviewer who claims to have no involvement in this smear campaign, also had something similar with Anne Hathaway.

I can't answer for @noblegiraffe, but one of the things I do to make the system better is not be an apologist for abusive men. Even if I dislike or have no opinion on the person they abused.

I am aware of the tactics used by abusive men. Money, power, the "mad, bad or sad" narrative they use to discredit their victims. The lies, the gaslighting, the manipulation.

Deny.
Lie.
Minimise.

I know the impact this has on victims. As do rape charities, which is why they devote a lot of their training to it.

There's definitely something a bit suspicious about that particular interviewer.

She has released a few clips now about different celebs saying that they are hard to work with.

MrsTerryPratchett · 23/12/2024 23:02

@TooBigForMyBoots

“Feminism is a political practice of fighting male supremacy on behalf of women as a class, including all the women you don’t like, including all the women you don’t want to be around, including all the women who use to be your best friends whom you don’t want anything to do with any more. It doesn’t matter who the individual women are.” - Andrea Dworkin

You're right, it's far too easy to pit women against each other. I for one will be viewing any news that a woman is 'difficult' as a good reference for her in future.

MrsPeterHarris · 23/12/2024 23:48

noblegiraffe · 22/12/2024 09:52

I don't see how any woman could read that list of demands from Lively on set and continue wittering on about how she was mean in an interview.

It's pretty horrifying that a famous woman could experience that sort of behaviour in her job and then have people, including women, rally around to protect the man.

I completely agree with this!

Absolutely.

It also makes me wonder what the women who are not rich, famous and with some power, suffer.

From what I can see these PR campaigns are fairly new, linked to the massive rise in SM and 'influencers' and cancellations.

Prior to this many celebrities were badly behaved on interviews, Grace Jones hitting an interviewer (Russel Harty), Bjork hitting a photographer for asking a question in an airport, Oliver Reed being invited on to shows and left in the green room knowing that he would get drunk. Peter O'Toole was pretty much the same. Meg Ryan did a whole interview with one word answers.

Enough4me · 24/12/2024 01:41

I wonder if he'll publicly pull back from his behaviour and admit 1) the harassment and 2) the smear campaign.
A sorry not my fault situation where he'll blame... an addiction, stress, mother never wanted him.

BigDahliaFan · 24/12/2024 08:34

That's the point isn't it really she's rich and famous and getting this shit thrown at her. What on earth are powerless women trying to make a career having to put up with.

She wasn't just being called rude though she was being called difficult to work with all over the internet. She had to pull out of appearances because of the backlash.
Even Justin Baldonis Assistent concurs their was a huge SM shitstorm.
Being called difficult as a woman in Hollywood can certainly impact your career. Look at Ashley Judd and Mira Sorvino. Conincidentally Baldonis PR Manager used to work for the companyy repping Weinstein.

Also Ambers carreer was absolutely destroyed.

Why are you downplaying all of this?

FuckItItsFine · 24/12/2024 08:52

Heard on the radio this morning that JB has been stripped of his award for being an ally to women.

The Voices of Solidarity Award honors remarkable men who have shown courage and compassion in advocating on behalf of women and girls. On December 9, 2024, we recognized Justin Baldoni with this award. On Saturday, December 21, we learned through news reports about a lawsuit brought by Blake Lively against Mr. Baldoni, his publicists, and others that is disturbing and alleges abhorrent conduct. The communications among Mr. Baldoni and his publicists included in the lawsuit – and the PR effort they indicate – are, alone, contrary to the values of Vital Voices and the spirit of the Award. We have notified Mr. Baldoni that we have rescinded this award.

Lentilweaver · 24/12/2024 08:54

Ally. Meaningless term that serves as a great indicator for a performative asshole.

I saw on Twitter the comment 'if this is the sort of thing that happens to a famous, well connected woman on a professional film set, imagine what happens to women in porn'.

noblegiraffe · 24/12/2024 09:04

I saw that the female co-host of his podcast has quit the show.
