Weekend Plans?

How are you all spending the last weekend before Christmas? Few more pressies to wrap tonight & need to clear the bed as it’s covered in clothes after a massive sort out. DD16 has advertised a few bits on Vinted for me. Working tomorrow then a nice easy tea of Greggs festive bakes, double cream mash & petitpois. Probably watch a festive movie. Sunday, DH wants to go Christmas shopping by himself ( we get each other little gifts to open on the day as well as our main presents, with a budget of around £20). We might go out to see some lights in the evening. Tea of sausages, roast potatoes, roast carrots, broccoli & Bisto sausage gravy.

We are visiting Santa tomorrow, then going to our nearest city to do family secret Santa and have dinner. I'm so excited for it, I've not felt very festive so far but it will be a really nice day!
Sunday we will go to church, then we've been invited to a neighbour/fellow church members house for mulled wine and mince pies along with other neighbours. Then Sunday evening I think we will relax with a Christmas film.

I've got a couple of bits to wrap. Just been to see my dad and drop his presents off. Now in my pjs waiting for a takeaway, wine in the fridge for later 😁.
DD20 and DD17 have just got home from Christmas shopping and getting their nails done.
I'm working tomorrow then off until the 6th of January, Sunday will probably be a quiet day I'll get the rest of the wrapping done then I'm finally ready for Christmas 🎅

A household of two Christmas avoiding adults here. Sleep, walking, yoga, good food and generally staying away from all the madness

Got a few presents to wrap tonight and tomorrow. Going to clean bathroom tomorrow and sort out things to take to my parents house.
Driving down to visit friends on Sunday and have lunch with them. Hoping traffic isn't too bad.

We have friends visiting this evening . I’m hoping my son will come home for the weekend as he’s not stayed since August ( I have seen him plenty) . Im going nowhere as the roads near us are a nightmare at the moment as the main route in or out has been dug up for a gas leak .

Quiet one here. A few cards to write and one present to wrap. I'm working on Monday so not feeling very Christmassy yet. I'm eating out over Xmas and it's all booked and paid for/someone else is sorting so I'm feeling very chilled!

I’ve just come home and the house is warming up nicely. Going for a swim 🏊‍♀️ in the morning then visiting my elderly mum.

Planning on watching The Lady Vanishes and possibly Party Games, a ”Yes, Minister” Christmas special tonight. 😊

Relax! Read, watch a mivie, have a lie in.
Last weekends have been so bizarre busy!.
Sunday morning church.

DelilahBucket · 20/12/2024 18:19

Wish I could have a lovely chilled out weekend before Christmas but the house hasn't been cleaned properly for weeks and weeks due to work and other commitments and both me and DH actually need to buy Christmas presents!
We're both going to blitz through the cleaning/tidying and then go shopping on Sunday. Food shop is getting delivered Sunday night and then we've both got one more day at work. I'd love to watch a Christmas film or two but as DH works away mid week we tend to spend evenings catching up on stuff we've not watched midweek or just catching up with each other!
Gone are the days of Christmas baking and lovely festive feelings!

Today - decorating the tree
Saturday - DH and I are going to a carol concert, DD (17) will lounge around at home
Sunday - making chocolate truffles and marzipan

I do need to wrap a couple of presents, I will do it on Sunday morning when DH brings DD to her riding lesson.

We just got to our house in the woods where we are having Christmas, dh and all the dc are here and the fire is going, trying to pack the food into the fridge jenga style (thinking of posting a photos to the fridge thread) spaghetti and meatballs for dinner tonight
Some skiing tomorrow and then mince pie making, some present wrapping and dinner will be chicken pie and green beans.
Sunday will be the annual dc trip to Walmart to buy presents for each other, which is always fun as they try to hide what they have chosen for each other while also trying to work out what would suit each other (and I buy Brussels sprouts and more premade pastry for mince pies as they will have eaten the ones I just made). Then Christmas music and more present wrapping and dinner with a Christmas movie (thinking of maybe Red One)
Its going to snow again on Saturday night, so it will feel very festive on Sunday morning with the trees all dressed in white…. I dont live in the UK!

I go to an outdoor fitness class in all weathers, all year round and tomorrow is our Christmas one which is usually great craic. Then a Christmas market later on for some last minute shopping and then we're having a big feed to celebrate the solstice. I'm really looking forward to it!

MyBigFatGreekSalad · 20/12/2024 18:50

Tomorrow morning we are going to a farm to visit santa then will spend the afternoom baking Christmas cookies and watching a movie.

Sunday we have no plans yet! Will probably give the house a good clean so it's nice for Christmas.

Well I'm hoping I'm not going to sleep the weekend away.. l went to change my morphine patch today and noticed it was higher dosage than my prescription.. the chemist were most apologetic and lessons have been learnt.. luckily only had it for one week.. l just thought it was my Fibromyalgia flare up wiping me out.
All presents wrapped.. apart from two shark cordless vacuums... ( daughters know they are part of their presents ..so not wraping them) ...daughter doing all rest of sorting food on Monday at M& S click and collect .
I'm resting tomorrow and going for a drive out on Sunday with Sister.. it's her birthday.. lovely drive to the coast or country will be lovely.
Resting Monday and Tuesday.. then will be at youngest daughters Christmas day and eldest daughters Boxing day...
Hopefully back at my villa in the Canaries for New year.
