Am I the only one who’s defeated with lotions that come in pumps?

Like Jo Loves. Treated myself for my alone Xmas. Went to use it just now was pumping away. Nothing. It just defeats the object when you have to twist it off as it gets everywhere. I do have neuropathy but I still can pump! I find it’s worse with the more expensive products. Anyone have any tricks?

They’re really annoying as you can never get the last bits out! I much prefer pots.

Not just you. Gives me the rage.

And don’t get me started on the on/off arrows that no one can see

I cut them in half and use a spatula to decant into a clean jar or an airtight lidded container. I got over 200mls out of a supposedly empty dispenser that stopped pumping.

Yeah, a lot of packaging seems designed to make sure you waste half the contents. I wonder how much stuff is thrown away because people think they're empty and don't extract all the contents for whatever reason.

Yep. Spent £75 on a drunk elephant potion and used it twice and now can’t get anything out of it. Infuriating.

And the bobbi brown foundation with the pipette. Liked the foundation but the pipette didn’t go anywhere near the bottom and I swear there was lots left in it which i couldn’t suck up. Never bought it again and it was nice.

I’ve emailed them and they asked me to send a video, not easy to film with one hand pumping 😀

I keep some (cleaned) empty lotion jars / shower gel bottles where the closing part comes off for exactly that kind of event - that I get a non-functional bottle or have to cut something open to get the rest out, or that packaging breaks.
It does beat the original purpose, though, and often packaging with pumps costs more. I agree on the useless pipettes, too and will not buy any more serums or make-up with pipettes.

@EachandEveryone the video proof is ridiculous, but I guess it saves you from sending the product back. I hope you'll at least get a replacement then.

I hate them..same with foundation bottles and shampoo bottles. I bought some fancy refillable bottles once and then when I discovered how annoying the pumps are and had to get rid of them!
