Help me name this actor!

I need to know as I think I just chatted to him (neighbouring table in a restaurant) and need to IMDB to see if it was him, but I can’t even think of the name of one show I’ve seen him in now!

I suspect the name won’t be familiar but he is one of those actors who regularly has supporting roles in British TV, light drama and sitcom type stuff.

I’d describe him as:
Bald
late 50s
Glasses
Shortish stature
Normal build, not particularly skinny or overweight or athletic
Tends to play sort of unassuming, slightly nerdy characters
Kind of similar to Adrian Scarborough but definitely not him
A bit of a nasal voice
A sort of “Penfold” like demeanour if you know what I mean

No not him but I know why you suggested that, he was the producer in Douglas is Cancelled, wasn’t he?

This guy is more mole-like in looks, I think he would play something like a pedantic civil servant. Might go through the whole cast of The Thick of It..

Not Toby Jones I assume?

I’m about 75% sure it was him. We are in a ski resort and it’s heavy snow so we can’t ski, I asked their table about a quiz app they were using to while away the time!

I know Jason Watkins really well, we watch a lot of MacDonald and Dodds! 😀

Not really the point of the thread OP - but what ski resort? Lots of snow…I’m going soon so 👀

Cervinia, Italy. Very high. Not thick snow cover across all the mountains but plenty on piste and lots more falling tonight. Have fun!

PS It seems on Googling that Alex MacQueen is well known as one of the Dads in the Inbetweeners but I never watched that so perhaps missed the most obvious clue to give you!
