Wisdom teeth surgery cancelled for the third time

My adult DD has had her wisdom teeth removal surgery cancelled for the third time at a dental hospital in England. The lower teeth are impacted and the teeth next to it are starting to discolour as with her best efforts she can't clean them properly.

Is there a point at which the NHS realises they don't have adequate resources to do the surgery and allow my DD to go private? Or do they just keep remaking and cancelling appointments provided they are within 28 days of the cancelled appointment?

DD has been on the waiting list for two years for this surgery.

I am worried as obviously the impaction will continue to worsen and the teeth next to the wisdom teeth will continue to decay.

That sounds completely unacceptable. Why can’t she have the surgery privately?

She can, we would just have to pay for it.

She was referred to the hospital two years ago. It took 18 months before they even got back to her for an appointment. The surgery was then scheduled for this month and it has been cancelled and rescheduled three times now.
