I can listen. What’s happened?

I'm up and awake.

Worried I'm going to lose my job over sickness, I'm waiting for a gynae operation on a condition I can't control

I haven't had ages off as in weeks and months but an awful amount of occasions

What's the worry? Can we put your mind at ease?

I had an awful sleepless night the other week over work and then when I looked at it all again in the cold light of day I realised it was a total non -issue

Can you go to Hr? I'm sure they'll be understanding.

Besides anyone that can't make time for you being poorly isn't worth being employed by. But I'm sure they'll be understanding.

Is there a charity that supports people with your condition? They may be able to offer support.

You may be covered by the Equality act too

Is your job aware of the condition? Are there any adjustments they could make to help you work?

They're aware, gynae waiting lists are so long
I've been moved forward but no definite date yet
It's unpredictable, I can go from being ok one minute to 10/10 pain the next

I've had a letter previously (like a concern one) and an appointment with occupational health. Had another this week but I'm in limbo until after Christmas now I guess

Do you have a union?
If this was me and they took those actions. I'd let them carry on with whatever and call my union. If they let me go I'd walk out with my head held high knowing they weren't a great employer.
