Calling stairs - "Jimmy Dancers".

When I was a little girls the stairs were called "Jimmy Dancers" by my grandmother. I recently implored my littlest to "get up those Jimmy Dancers" and I have no idea of the relevance.
Can anyone explain please?

Dancers as rhyming slang for 'dancing bears'? May have been that the Jimmy bit was added later - James (Jimmy) Cagney was a famous actor and tap dancer who danced down the White House stairs in the film Yankee Doodle Dandy.
Just speculating...

I've heard up the dancers (never down) as slang for stairs - short for dancing bears but not the Jimmy bit

Ours were either Dancers or Golden Dancers. I’ve never heard of Jimmy.
No idea who or what these dancers were…
