Ginger mixer with brandy/whiskey - advice please?

My Mum has asked me to buy a ginger mixer that will go with brandy or whiskey.
Does anyone know if she could mean ginger ale? I'm clueless and even more thrown as I've haven't know her to every have a ginger mixer and hardly ever drinks.

Ginger ale is perfect for whiskey, nice and dry if you can find it.

Brandy and ginger ale is one of my favourites. Also drambuie and ginger ale.

I would guess ginger ale, it's punchy but softer than ginger beer.

Ginger ale is probably your best bet. Ginger beer has much more of a kick so less popular with people who want to be able to taste their spirits. If you wanted to be fancy you could go with soda water and Mother's Root, but I suspect ginger ale is what your mum has in mind. Fever Tree Do one.

I really like the Fevertree spiced orange ginger ale, but it's hard to find. Big Tescos usually have it, or Waitrose.

This is good, used to be better ( I can't stand the taste of artificial sweetners)

My mum's side of the family drank something called a "whisky mac" which was whisky with a ginger alcohol in. I think it was called Stones - like a sort of ginger cordial?
Also Canada Dry Ginger ale.

@FrankTurnersCat it's about £6 ish, I can find it in Asda & Sainsbury's often on a low shelf a bit hidden. Enjoy!
( It's nice as a hot drink a 'good' measure topped with hot but not boiling water in your favourite mug)

Yep , tescos do their own with is pretty good for the price ( about £4 70cl) but if I can get it I prefer Cabbies , its got a more powerful ginger kick.

My dad used to regularly drink a whisky and green ginger, might have to get him some in for Christmas!
