How the buggery do I eat this?!

Giant toblerone. How?

Firstly, breaking off a piece requires strength I'm discovering I don't have, and technique I evidently can't acquire.

Secondly, what do I do with it once (or should I say if) I've managed to get it? It's too big to shove in all at once, but I can't bite any off because it's a stupid shape.

Plus it's like biting through concrete - I need intact teeth for a few more years yet so, and I've never been a fan of the bleeding gums look.

I feel like there's a secret method the world has of successfully eating giant toblerone that no one has shared with me :(.

Get something like a butter knife, that is, not sharp, and bash it with the handle (not the blade!) to break it into pieces.

No-one really eats them, they just pile them up in airport duty free shops to trick the unwary.

bongsuhan · 18/12/2024 10:04

Break the pieces off by pushing the tip inwards (towards the remaining bar) rather than outwards - should break off more easily :)

wandawaves · 18/12/2024 10:05

Why is it so hard? Have you had it in the fridge?

I can't say I've ever had any problems eating a giant Toblerone...

They're massive aren't they 😂

I made the mistake of leaving one with my mother and she scoffed the lot and was quite violently sick

Pumpkinseason3 · 18/12/2024 10:06

Ill take it off your hands if you’re struggling 🙋🏻‍♀️

I'm working on being delicate. It's going to take some time ...

Love a giant toblerone! I have always managed to break a section off but I will be trying the pushing together trick for my next one.

In terms of eating it, I start with the narrowest point and use my molars at the back to break a bit off. I care more about chocolate than my teeth though. 😜

CalicoPusscat · 18/12/2024 10:08

In terms of Toblerone, yes. I'm highly experienced and expertly trained in terms of walnut whips though

The Swiss hold the rest of the world in total contempt, it's the only reason for Toblerones being their only export anyone can afford.

MrsSethGecko · 18/12/2024 10:49

Gnaw at it like a cartoon dog with a bone.

MrsSethGecko · 18/12/2024 10:50

I won't forgive them for discontinuing the Coconut Toblerone.

Wrap in bag - hammer, smash it.
