2nd hand car rights

Bought a new car last night and about 6 miles from the garage the engine warning light came on. Popped it to my garage this morning and by the state of the exhaust he believes the DPF is cracked, it needs a new fuel cap and the EGR valve replacing!

Called the garage and they want me to book into a garage to get formal diagnostics done. Is it really my job to organise that - they have said they will pay for it.

I'm furious and so stressed, honestly would rather just return the car for a full refund. Do I have any rights to do that or do I need to follow their process?

Reject it as unfit for purpose and ask for a full refund.

Honest John is a good source of information on buying cars and your rights when you do:
