This year, for the first time in my adult life, I have done all my Christmas cards before the last posting date.

<takes a bow>

I thank you. And I’m not even 50 yet.

(mn says ‘other users are more likely to reply if you add extra detail to your title’ but I do realise how mundane this achievement is so I think mn is wrong here. I am very happy for others to celebrate their minor and unremarkable accomplishments. Because no-one else is going to congratulate you for being just-about-adequate, except your fellow travellers.)

I actually came on to see what tripe the op was posting and then to go away chuckling at their self importance but once I read the actual post I was seriously impressed.

I am 50, I didn't get the memo that I would be able to achieve the same this year finally, do I need to pass my number on to an agency for these important life updates?

tbh all the other years I’ve done the cards after the last posting date and it’s not actually mattered (they still get there eventually) so perhaps the upgrade is to not caring, rather than acquiescing to arbitrary Royal Mail deadlines.

Oh I've definitely got not caring down pat Grin

I actually bought a pretty card for my parent's, wrote it, put it in the envelope and when I arrived at the post office it was gone. Really hoping a lovely person finds it and posts if for me!
