Work Christmas meal

I have been off for a few days and am back to work tomorrow. We have a team Christmas meal. I feel quite ill and run down and a few days off did not help. The manager wants people there but I don’t feel well enough to go and they are going to a junk food place which will make me feel worse. How can I say I won’t be going?

Just take tomorrow off too

It’s likely your colleagues would prefer you didn’t find you’re unwell.. no one wants a bug just before Christmas

Just say that you’re not feeling well so you won’t be attending. Best not to complicate these things

They're going to a junk food place for the team Christmas meal!!
Just take tomorrow off as well, doesn't sound like you've fully recovered

just say you wish you could go but you'd hate to make anyone poorly so close to xmas xx

Option 1: Take tomorrow off sick too.
Option 2: Go to work tomorrow, tell them “Obviously I won’t be going tonight, I can barely manage to look at food right now, but I hope you all have a great time.”

Hope you feel better soon.

Sorry, I really need to rest or I'll be good for nothing over Christmas. Can't make the meal but have a great time.
